Job Purpose
P&O Maritime Logistics (POML) in 2016 secured a substantial contract for module logistics in support of the US$37bn Tengiz FGP project by TCO. TCO is a JV operated by Chevron with the purpose of operating the Tengiz oilfield, a top-10 global onshore oilfield located in Kazakhstan. Securing the project involved POML conceptualizing, designing and constructing 17 Module Carrying Vessels purpose-built for transporting heavy oil and gas modules on the Russian Inland Waterway System (RIWS). Together with its partners, POML is currently in the process of delivering the critical logistics component of the project. In this regard, the vessels have proven themselves invaluable to the efficient and on-time delivery of high-value and time-sensitive cargoes on the RIWS to the highest global safety and environmental standards. Following completion of the Tengiz FGP project, the vessels will become available for wider commercial use on the RIWS and elsewhere in the world.
The RIWS Chartering Manager will be responsible for optimizing the deployment of the MCV fleet on the Russian river system.

Key Accountabilities
Asset Value
- Maximise the value of the Company’s MCV fleet through marketing of the assets and services, and optimising planning and performance
Chartering
- Charter MCV’s on the RIWS for all feasible project cargos; and general cargo as required.
- Set up RIWS container feeder line on southern or other routes
- Develop and maintain up to date visibility of all vessels chartered
- Report on recurring technical requests and give recommendations for vessel modifications where required
Commercial Acumen
- Design and implement reliable supply chain solutions for cargos and businesses on the river systems
- Actively maintain a large network of Clients and knowledge of competition
- Ensure visibility of major CIS industrial projects and assist in optimal strategic positioning
- Advise on local business environment conditions and make recommendations where relevant
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, as required, to develop optimum chartering solutions
- Prepare commercial offers
- Compile reports on chartering activities using CRM
Key Relationships
- Build and maintain alliances and strategic relationships with clients, partners etc.
- Interface with all levels of the organization
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements
- Ensure all POML management systems, policies and procedures are adhered to and are a visible driver of safety
Reputation
- Protect and develop the company reputation in the industry and local communities within which it operates worldwide
Communication and Working Relationships
Internal: MCV deployment lead (Caspian BDM), Director of Solutions, Solutions Project team, tendering team.
External: O&G and non-O&G cargo owners, EPCI’s, freight forwarders/ 3rd party logistics companies, competitors, brokers, market sources.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Maritime, Marketing or Business Management Sciences (preferably from Russian or European university.
Minimum Experience:
- 3 years’ experience working in or for Russian market in a sales related role in either maritime, logistics or O&G
- Essential experience in cold sales, working with (a type of) CRM, contract negotiations & closure
- Preference for existing project cargo owner network, work experience in river shipping company
- Understanding of Russian river systems and relevance for CIS
