The energy industry in the United States
Renewable energy is the fastest growing energy source in the United States, accounting for just under 20% of the country's net electricity generation in 2018. The sector grew 100% in the years between 2000 and 2018 with hydro and wind power being the main drivers of this growth with the USA being the 4th largest hydroelectric producer in the world. In addition to this, the United States is currently the top oil producing country in the world and home to some of the world's leading global oil companies and vast projects such as the Alaska LNG Liquefaction Plant and the Cameron LNG Liquefaction Plant.
