The energy industry in Romania
Ranking 10th in the world for its diversity of minerals available in the country, mining plays a significant role in the Romanian economy, with coal being the main driver of the Industry. In addition to this, it does produce a small amount of oil but its’ main role in The energy Industry is via large pipeline projects that cross the country. This includes the proposal of the longest pipeline in the world, the Nabucco Pipeline which will support the Caspian oilfields. This pipeline is expected to run for 1329 kilometres.
