We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to work with a leading cleantech development and environmental services company, who develops biocarbon and renewable energy solutions. With exceptional capabilities across their business units, they are well-established at the forefront of sustainable solutions in RNG, Hydrogen and Biogas.

The Project Manager is accountable for the development and execution for green hydrogen and renewables natural gas across various Canadian and North American markets. Reporting to the COO, the successful candidate will be expected to meet objectives in an entrepreneurial setting.

This role is based in Toronto, Ontario. The successful candidate must have the right to work and live in Canada. 
  
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for all aspects of project execution from conception to completion
  • Support negotiation and structuring of EPC Agreements
  • Work with a cross-functional group to define and meet project milestones on time, on budget, and according to specifications.
  • Liaise and coordinate efforts between Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) Service Providers, Utilities, Landowners, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise during all phases, including development, executions, commissioning, and post-commissioning.
  • Provide technical sales support to Business Development as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Customer-facing role, requiring excellent communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, voltage distribution systems and single line diagrams
  • Experience with North American Electric Power Systems and Utility Interconnection
  • Strong understanding of IEEE, NEC, and IBC Codes
  • Knowledge of industry standard project management methods such as Project Management Professional (PMP) best practices, and other similar best practices
  • Knowledge of construction processes and practices in electrical, civil and structural trades
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to drive success by any means possible and overcome obstacles with a ‘no excuses’ mentality.
  • Exemplary organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or closely related field with high academic standing (PMP Designation an asset)
  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience leading project management activities for commercial-scale renewable energy and gas projects
  • Preference to candidates with New York (NYISO), Ontario (IESO), California (CAISO), Texas (ERCOT), Northeast US (ISO-NE, PJM) experience.
