Our valued client is seeking a 4th Class Power Engineers in the Bonnyville/Cold Lake area. This is a 6-month contract to start.  Candidates must be local to the area.
 
KEY AREAS OF CONTRIBUTION:

• Reporting to the Foreman the incumbent will be responsible for operations and maintenance of plant operations with minimal supervision and optimize wells in an efficient, cost effective and safe manner.

 SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operation of pumpjacks with VSH2 units
• Switching wells into test
• Performing samples and cuts as well as weekly fluid shots, chemical drawdowns, starting and stopping glycol boiler, pumps and motors
• Performing lockouts, writing hazard assessments, and inputting corrective maintenance requests
• Calculating production numbers and filing reports
• Ensure housekeeping in the area is kept at a high standard

• Comply with all Health and Safety Requirements
• Know and comply with all regulations and legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the Province of Alberta and environmental standards
• Follow safe work procedures and ensure all personnel comply;
• Report any injury or illness immediately;
• Report unsafe acts and conditions;
• Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and is worn where and when required.

 QUALIFICATIONS

• 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate required
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Must maintain current safety certification training as per area requirements
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Self-motivated and ability to produce high quality work with minimal supervision or guidance
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and handling repetitive activities such as bending, climbing, twisting, kneeling and sitting
• Exceptional problem solving skills
• Knowledge of emergency response plans, safe work procedures, permitting procedures and plant safety rule.
