Position Summary

Supports the Asset Integrity Inspection Coordinator, conduct periodic surveys and coordinate various welding / fabrication activities in the plant and plant related equipment's. To ensure that plant and equipment is certified in accordance with the client's codes of practice, strategies, and legislation

Duties & Responsibilities

Functions

ESSENTIAL

§ Conduct periodic surveys in tanks and piping of tanks using visual inspection with/without aid of the following instruments: Ultrasonic flaw detector, Ultrasonic lead detector.

§ Conduct and coordinate various welding/fabrication activities in the plant and plant related equipment's. This also includes welding procedure specification, qualifications, record review, ITB review, etc.

§ Turnaround or shutdown inspection activity planning and coordination with other inspection contract manpower.

§ Liaise with existing NDT technicians for various inspection programs. This includes planning, executing various thickness surveys, populating data into client inspection program.

§ General inspection activities related to visual inspection of failures, preparation of repair procedures, coordinating with maintenance and follow up of/on the activity, planning NDT technician's availability, confirming that the necessary NDT are completed, report preparation and documentation.

§ Being a mentor, hands on experience on all the above inspections and should be physically able to conduct the same individually.

§ Applies knowledge of Industry codes/Standards and Company specifications in support of safe, reliable, and compliant operation of facilities.

§ Prepare risk assessments and expand the RBI program for assigned facilities.

§ Prepare equipment and piping inspection plans and review results.

§ Perform Level 1 Fitness for Service evaluations. Initiate Level II/III evaluations.

§ Interface with Plant Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, IMPACT and Planning departments.

§ Review daily issues related to Inspection, Fixed Equipment and piping failures, risk and mitigation, metallurgy and materials, coatings, and welding.

§ Provide piping and fixed equipment engineering support to Facilities Engineering teams.

§ Perform technical review on equipment/piping fabrication and repair specifications. Critique purchase specifications.

§ Supports Turnaround projects (IMPACT).

§ Develops manpower plan, budget estimations, and execution in support of their area of the Asset Integrity team for Fixed Equipment inspections.

§ Proficient in Inspection Database Management System

§ Applies knowledge of corrosion metallurgy to identify corrosion mechanisms and develop repair procedures per applicable Code.

§ Correlates data to corrosion surveys profiles and equipment specific inspection plans to flag documents for change by appropriate SME.

§ Supports use of advanced NDT technologies to improve quality and efficiency of results.

§ Training and development of local staff.

§ Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

§ Certified API-510,

§ Certified API-570,

§ Knowledge of Corrosion mechanisms such as SCC, NH4HS, CUI, fatigue, etc.

§ Demonstrated experience on piping and pressure vessels inspection and repair procedures

§ Offshore medical, BOSIET / Offshore Survival certification

§ Confined Space Entry training

§ Proficient in Microsoft office suits.

DESIRED

§ Degree in an Engineering related discipline

§ Chartered Engineer as defined by the Engineering Council or equivalent

§ CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 or AWS

§ NDT Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristic

§ Minimum 6 years of minimum Inspection experience in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry. (E).

§ Minimum 5 years of specific experience related to the job description. (E).

§ Minimum 3 years, experience as a certified API-510/570 inspector (E).

§ Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of standards, risk assessments and legislation associated with the in-service inspection of plant and equipment. (E).

§ Have working knowledge of design, manufacture, metallurgy, welding, and codes associated with fabrication and construction of plant and equipment. (E).

§ Good understanding of corrosion mechanisms and monitoring (E).

§ Must be familiar with QA/QC systems/procedures and NDT techniques.

§ Good reporting writing capabilities and provide comprehensive reports on specific formats with details of observation, inference, and recommendations with short and long-term solutions. (E).

§ Previous experience of coaching, mentoring, and carrying out competency assessments

§ Ability to generate a team approach to workflow execution and problem solving

§ Good communicator in written, verbal, and technical to make complex terminology simple for the benefit of others (E).

§ Good client or support contractor relationship skills at various levels of seniority or diverse cultures (E).

Working Conditions

This position is considered ONSHORE/OFFSHORE which is characterized as follows:

§ Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water

§ Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment

§ Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels

§ Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.

§ Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.

§ Work surface is stable, height is elevated
