Business/Department: Onshore Operations

Reporting To: Commissioning Supervisor

Job Purpose: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Technician to join our Onshore Operations team. As an Electrical Commissioning Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper installation, functionality, and performance of electrical equipment, in compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Your role will be crucial in contributing to a smooth, safe, and timely commissioning process, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational readiness.

Key Result Areas (Key Accountabilities):

  • Testing of low voltage and high voltage distribution boards and circuits.
  • Testing of motor control centers, motors, stop/start circuits, and associated overloads.
  • Testing of trace heating systems.
  • Testing of Cathodic protection circuits and equipment.
  • Performing motor, no-load runs.
  • Assisting discipline engineers to compile Livening Up Notices (LUN) to allow subsystem/system energization.
  • Participation in Tri-Party Subsystem/System Mechanical Completion walk-downs and punch list item categorization.
  • Completion of System Handover Management Process commissioning check sheets.
  • Acting as a Competent Electrical Person (CEP) for high and low voltages following assessment and approval processes.
  • Undertaking Performing Authority duties in accordance with Permit To Work (PTW) procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Job Related Competencies:

Educational Qualifications: Minimum requirement of an Engineering Diploma in Electrical.

Experience Profile:

  • Proven track record of electrical experience with specific experience commissioning on Electrical Systems.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Commissioning processes including interpretation of Single Line Diagrams (SLD), schematics, engineering datasheets, and Commissioning of high and low voltage electrical power, distribution, and generation systems.
  • Familiarity with Control of Work/Permit to Work processes during execution.
  • Experience in commissioning utility and process systems.
  • Proficiency in System Handover Management Process commissioning check sheet completion.

Competencies/Skills/Others:

  • Compex Atmospheres Explosibles (ATEX) certificate.
  • Ability to analyze project-related information and effectively communicate project status and major issues.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, as well as contract terms and conditions.
  • Strong communication, intermediate computer skills, and leadership abilities.
  • Proactive communication skills and the ability to provide effective solutions to key client issues at short notice.
