JOB TITLE: Superintendent-Commissioning-Mechanical

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Identify requirements and scope of work, review specifications, drawings and other documents of the project and establish applicability to the scope of work.
  • Carry out a detailed assessment of the commissioning work involved and assess the available resources and possible constraints in its execution.
  • Ability to review contractual documents and identify project requirements and constraints / risks.
  • Be continually present on the field to guarantee the quality and progress of the work.
  • Ability to perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and toll box talk to executing the activities.
  • Inspect and ensure all construction activities are completed prior to taking up the system for commissioning and ensure the setting up of safety procedures for the same.
  • Ensure that all safety and precautionary requirements and procedures are followed during the commissioning.
  • Ability to lead subcontractor for the safe execution of Pre-Commissioning / Commissioning activities in line with the schedule.
  • Be aware of cost monitoring, control expenses, and report overruns to management.
  • Hold regular review of risk assessment/meeting with the client on issues such as HSE.
  • Attend daily meeting with Commissioning coordinator and team leaders to update the progress and receive daily reports.
  • Regularly contact discipline engineers and supervisors for solving problems related to project execution work safely.
  • Liaise with Sub-contractor execution team.
  • Liaise & Coordinate with commissioning engineers & supervisors and provide them technical support and guidelines for commissioning related issues.
  • Manage site technical queries with engineering team and ensure that TQs are closed and informed to client.
  • Manage vendor utilization, planning and coordination. Ensure that vendor reports are reviewed and signed by respective leads.
  • Provide in-put to micro plan for commissioning of a system or sub-system in -line with the milestones.
  • Keep track of Project completions systems, system completion dossiers and ensure that client comments on system dossiers are resolved and closed.
  • Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as and when directed by the Supervisor.
  • Mechanical:
  • Ensure that project Preservation & Maintenance check sheets, matrix and schedules as in-line with the project requirement and vendor recommendations
  • Ability to find out technical problems associated with rotating/static equipment and mechanical packages/valves are identified and resolved or coordinated with the respective vendor.
  • Ability to preserve and maintain rotating equipment after equipment commissioning and start-up.
  • Preparation of RFQs and evaluation of vendor technical bids and preparation of technical bid analysis for all specialist services activities.
  • Assessing the requirements of special tools/temporary facilities/equipment required for pre-commissioning and commissioning.
  • Ability to participate in model reviews of the plant with respect to Accessibility & Maintainability requirements.
  • Ability to perform & guide various activities related to rotating equipment likes lube oil flushing, alignment, lubrication, vibration checks, start-up etc.
  • Ability to perform & guide various activities related to static equipment likes proper installation of internal inside the vessels as per drawing & specifications.
  • Ability to perform & guide in air blowing, flushing, leak testing, drying & inerting of various piping.
  • Ability to perform & guide in various activities such as mechanical interlock, pipeline pigging activities, spring support, hot & cold setting.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • U niversity Degree in Mechanical or relevant degree
  • Experience in Commissioning .
