JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) to join our Operations APAC (West) business in Perth. This is a long-term opportunity to join our expanding Oil and Gas Operations team, due to recently securing several large projects with existing long-term clients. In addition, to a new and significant brownfields engineering opportunity with a major player in the LNG industry, which includes sustainability projects such as CCS. This role is available as full-time / part-time (job share) basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer and working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams across the project life cycle (Concept, FEED, Detailed Design), your role will be contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through the execution of assigned scopes of work and providing Mechanical engineering expertise to the business.

Working as part of an integrated project team you will be:
  • Creating and reviewing designs, drawings, specifications, and other engineering deliverables.
  • Developing a range of engineering deliverables, including specifications, calculations, reports, and technical requisitions.
  • Meeting Mechanical engineering cost and schedule requirements in production of deliverables.
  • Coordinating your own work schedule, preparing progress reports, and providing technical assistance to others.
  • Keeping your Lead Mechanical Engineer apprised of project activities, recommending changes in plans and estimated cost.
  • Reviewing vendor documentation and actively participating in design reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS

Please note you must be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia.

Suitably qualified in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution with a minimum of 7 + years with relevant industry experience, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry on brownfields projects within an Engineering / EPCM office or gas processing facilities
  • In-depth technical mechanical knowledge - design and operation
  • Extensive design and knowledge of applicable codes and standards (both international and Australian)
  • Ability to manage risk during the design process consistent with technical and commercial requirements
  • Excellent analytical, literacy and numerical skills
  • Proven experience managing small teams of Engineers
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience in client facing roles
