If you share our determination to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking a Principal Process Engineer - Ammonia Technology Specialist, reporting directly to the Study Manager to join our consulting team based in Houston, Texas.

About the Job

The Principal Process Engineer Ammonia Technology Specialist:
  • Will have demonstrated knowledge of applied Process skills including the modeling of the dynamic behavior of the processing systems.
  • Will be expected to manage studies related to Ammonia Production, Transportation, and storage.
  • Oversee integration with renewables and any conversion to other products such as Hydrogen.
  • Lead study activities for our Downstream and Sustainable Energies early phase studies related to green/ blue ammonia.
  • During the studies (mainly at the feasibility, conceptual and Pre-FEED) the Principal Process Engineer will lead and contribute to the production of key process deliverables including Technology know how, Heat and material balances, PFDs, technology reviews, layouts, balance of plant, operations philosophies, input into technical safety reviews etc.
  • May also be required to manage the technical interface with technology licensors/vendors regarding technology application and technical package evaluation.
  • Should also have some experience in the start-up and commissioning activities of facilities.
  • The Principal Process Engineer - Ammonia will in most instances work embedded in a multidisciplinary project environment where communication with other discipline engineers is key to project success.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science with a minimum of 10 years experience within the Energy and Chemicals Industry with an emphasis in the area of Ammonia Value Chain.
  • 6+ years of experience with the design and/or operation of Ammonia facilities and expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Process Design, specifically Ammonia Synthesis.
  • 7+ years of experience in the practice of Process Engineering and Design and possesses well-developed knowledge of process engineering principles and practices along with the understanding of project execution and process involvement.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with all Process modeling tools like ASPEN/HYSY, PRO/II, etc.

Main Skills:
  • Strong written and communication skills are essential.
  • The candidate should be able to perform most of the Process activities without much supervision.
  • Must be a self-starter and committed to team success.
  • The candidate should have strong problem-solving abilities to come up with creative solutions.
  • Effective customer presentation skills and technical publication skills.
  • Experience in mentoring, project planning, change management, progress management, interface management, and final level of technical assurance.
  • Proven communication (oral, written, and listening) skills with proficiency in technical writing and comprehensive documentation.
  • Ability to interact with clients, vendors, OEMs, other disciplines and departments and other stakeholders.
