JOB TITLE: ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• First line maintenance, repair, inspection, fault finding on Power Generation and Distribution equipment ranging through High Voltage/Low Voltage/Extra Low Voltage Equipment throughout the FSU Installation. The range of equipment includes, but is not limited to the following:

o High Voltage

Power distribution systems including main power generation, power management system, switchgear, motors, cables and associated.

o Low Voltage

Power distribution systems including emergency power generation, switchgear, motor control centres, transformers, motors, cables, battery systems, chargers, and associated equipment.

o Critical Power Distribution

UPS Systems, Navigational Aids, Battery Systems and Chargers and Associated Control Equipment

o Lighting and Small Power

110/240V Low Voltage Distribution, including Temporary Supplies, Control Circuits, Portable Equipment / Tools and Lighting. Galley and Accommodation.

o Extra Low Voltage

24V D.C. Extra Low Voltage Distribution Systems and Power Supplies, including Battery Chargers and Battery Systems, Control Circuits, and interface with Instrument Control Systems.

o EEx Equipment

Electrical equipment for use in hazardous areas is classified, the EEx equipment is designed, built, manufactured, and tested to national and international standards and must be maintained to codes of practice. Responsible for ensuring the integrity of Ex explosion protected equipment throughout the platform.

• Carry out the duties of Performing Authority P.A. and / or AAA affected area authority as per ISSOW Integrated Safe System of Work. Ensuring isolations are adequately identified, applied, tested, secured, and recording isolation points and method of isolation within ISSOW to ensure that Isolation Standards are complied with as per the requirements and Ithaca Electrical Rules. The Task Risk Assessment (TRA) Process is an integral part of all WCCs and should have knowledge and experience relevant to the activity carry out the Level 2 Risk Assessment.

• Safe and efficient operation of a wide range of discrete packages and equipment including high frequency PMR work, light mechanical repairs, documentation reporting and Log Keeping duties. 1st line maintenance, repair, inspection, fault finding on miscellaneous equipment throughout the FSU Installation.

• Will act as system owner for various Electrical systems, developing regular system reports for MRI. Liaise with and advise equipment vendors to execute tire 2 and 3 work activities.

• HV switching and SAPE to also mentor less experienced personnel up to this standard.

• Proactive member of the Offshore Maintenance Team, providing assistance and advice to the FSU Maintenance Supervisor, Centralised maintenance Intervention team Leaders and installation Leadership Team in order to meet team deliverables and objectives as defined in the asset Business Plan

• Participates in weekly review in preparation of tasks in the 7-day plan prioritising work tasks aligned with asset priorities and daily briefings.

• Updating work orders in SAP to provide details of task and equipment history, including actual hours spent and information to justify departure from estimated hours.

• Identify text changes to maintenance documentation using the planned maintenance change procedure process (PMCR). Accountable for the execution of all assigned task in the seven-plan ensuring plan attainment above 90%.

• Diagnostic and Remedial Work/Operations fault finding in the event of equipment failure / power outages in systems using relevant Engineering and schematic single line Drawings, Vendor Manuals and other Data to assist with corrective action.

• Undertake a suitable competence assessment such as CompEX certification to work and carry out maintenance on equipment used within hazardous areas.

• Regularly makes use of Operation procedures or Smartprocedures which shall provide sufficient detail to allow equipment start up, shutdown in a safe manner understanding the potential hazards associated with the process or equipment involved.

• PSSR pre-start up safety review. Reviews content, ensures accuracy, highlights discrepancies in procedures and a good knowledge of Process Safety, able to initiate and follow through MOC and maintenance work order processes where changes are required.

• Competent Opralog user, maintains accurate and comprehensive records including, but not limited to: event logs, daily and trip handover documents, maintenance records, override logs.

• Complies with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.

• Actively participate in Constituency Safety Meetings, Group Meetings, Risk Assessments, Tool Box Talks etc

• Is an active member of the Emergency response team and maintain a fitness level to achieve Ithacas ERT standard.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Industry recognized Apprenticeship and relevant qualification (minimum City and Guilds or equivalent) and background in individual power generation/distribution.

• Extensive electrical operations and maintenance competency demonstrated preferably gained in a refinery, Chemical plant or offshore environment.

• Must have the ability to compile Technical Reports with associated Drawings as required, pertaining to Electrical systems or operations.

• Proactive approach to HE&S initiatives. Promotes a high level of awareness in self and others.

• Provide visible HES leadership and demonstrate behaviors aligned to the Ithaca Way, maintain adherence to the Tenets of Operations and key principles.

• Demonstrate good teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a close, multi-discipline environment. Maintain positive and tactful relationships with others.

• Demonstrate a proactive, flexible and positive attitude. Share knowledge freely with others to ensure best practices.

• Be familiar with and understand the Company Health, Safety and Environment Policies and Procedures

• Ability to deploy operational standards, policies, and producers to meet both regulatory and safety standards.

• Ability to undertake work to meet acceptance criteria with respect to safety, health, and hygiene.

• Clear, fluent and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas. Requirement to raise any non-conformance to supervisor in timely fashion.

• Ability to co-ordinate daily routines covering both the technical and administrative roles.

• Requirement to control supplies of material/equipment and cost associated with them.

• Ability to provide guidance and motivation to terms and co-workers.

• Complete mandatory training required as defined in the relevant Offshore Training Matrix

• Adhere to the company Competence Framework

• Relevant experience in either onshore or offshore oil and gas industry or candidates with significant experience in similar onshore Hazardous Industries such as continuous processes petrochemical, nuclear or power generation

• The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrates knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and apply it in the workplace.

• Previous experience in use of SAPor similar CMMS preferred.
