RESPONSIBILITIES

• Wood is currently recruiting for a HSE Supervisor with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry we are only considering applications from local Iraqi nationals, preferably residing in Basra, Iraq
• Deliver agreed Wood safety programs
• Provide discipline safety expertise and advice (e.g. risk management, Behaviour based safety, positive interventions, LSA - Work Authorization, VMS, PTW, Critical procedures, WAH, CSE, Lifting.H2S etc.)
• Where appropriate input to HSE plans, procedures and Project reviews.
• Assist development of detailed programs/safety controls for High risk /non-routine activities
• Review lagging indicators and investigate
• Review leading indicators and develop Risk based Communication programmes
• Review and evaluate Sub-Contractor safety documents for accuracy and compliance with Wood and client requirements
• Support and monitor Subcontractors implementation and full compliance with Client Safety expectations and perform surveillance activities in line with Wood MIP guidelines
• Ensure safety inductions and training for Wood contractor and subcontractor(s) personnel is carried out in accordance with company requirements
• Assist with development of training and awareness programs and test comprehension/maintain focus in the field
• Conduct HSE training/awareness sessions to the site team as required
• Ensue site team is aware of any HSE related procedures
• Conduct and review incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Conduct and participate in HSE audits aligned to project Risk Registers and ensure the close out of any corrective actions
• Keep Line and regional HSE managers updated with status of safety issues/initiatives
• Assist in management of Local National safety advisers
• Develop appropriate relationships with Project Management Teams and other relative teams, and support safety meetings promoting HSE and integrated culture
• Assist Wood management in rolling out safety leadership initiatives, safety stewardship, reporting investigation follow-up and Projects emergency response coordination
• Assist Iraq HSE Lead in all matters
• Always promote safe behaviours

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor in a relative Discipline
• OSHA 30 hrs or higher safety international HSE qualification.
• OHSAS 18001 Internal Auditor
• Minimum Experience 3 years
• Good proven experience in health and safety, preferably in the oil and gas industry
