Qualifications:

• Candidate will be working towards or have graduated with at least of a year of GIS courses.
• Preferred if candidate has has Advanced GIS/Model builder or web map applications experience.
• Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS and Google Earth
• Ability to work in office at our Austin, TX location.
• GIS Certification a Plus!

Activities

The GIS Intern will support the functioning of TotalEnergies Renewables USA's Solar and Storage Development Team by assisting GIS Manager with geospatial operations relating to real estate acquisition, mineral ownership, environmental avoidance areas, solar layout, and evaluating prospective project locations.

Day to Day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Developing maps and cartographic deliverables.
• Compiling project constraints from project reports, publicly available data, land agreements.
• Plotting metes and bounds to support land ownership verification.
• Maintaining database and adhere to data governance policies.

The GIS Intern will have an opportunity to experience the integral role GIS plays through each step of the solar development process. The intern will develop proficiency in Feature Class and Geodatabase management and use best practices for creating and maintaining quality datasets for a high-functioning and multifaceted organization. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to use advanced applications such as model builder for creating efficient workflows as well as ArcGIS Online web maps to support greenfield and siting activities.

This is a paid internship that will be located in the Austin, TX area. The internship will start at 3 months but has the possibility to be extended. Unfortunately at this time, TotalEnergies is not able to sponsor an applicant at this time. Students interested in the role will have to be able to work without needing authorization through a CPT or OPT program.
