The purpose of this position is to provide support in handling Trading Settlements daily operations. An Associate is responsible for ensuring operational excellence and process compliance as well as identifying shortcomings in current processes, systems and procedures within assigned sub-processes.

Shell Trading provides a comprehensive portfolio of products and services associated with crude oil and refined products, natural gas, electrical power, emissions, chemicals trading including shipping services. Currently the Trading Settlements activities are broadly divided into two areas, North America (NA) and WONA (World outside NA).

The Trading Settlements processes are complex, risk exposed due to ever changing regulatory environment and often time critical. They involve close cooperation with different teams (Traders, Operations, Tax, Financial Accounting, Process Excellence, etc.) within the Trading business at the various Trading locations.

Principal Accountabilities:

• providing support in handling daily settlements activities
  
• ensuring the receivables are followed up proactively and cash realized on or before the contractual due date within a defined scope
  
• following documented Work Instructions and agreed Ways of Working with no deviations with regular guidance from senior colleagues or line manager
  
• supporting Audit requirements
  
• supporting a manager and stakeholders in handling specific queries, data verification and also gathering information
  
• following the escalation matrix defined for the process
  
• demonstrating courtesy, tact and effectiveness in providing and obtaining information
  

Requirements:

• University degree, preferably in economic, accounting or finance area or equivalent accounting courses.
  
• Previous experience in relevant accounting environment
  
• Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
  
• Knowledge of SAP accounting system is desirable.
  
• Very good level of English (written and oral)
