About the Job:

Kent is hiring a Field Buyer to support the Golden Pass LNG Project within our CCSU business unit, working closely alongside our client and with support of the wider Kent group to provide procurement services for the project.

Your responsibilities:
  • This position reports to the Procurement Manager.
  • Ensuring selected vendors follow the company's and client's safety, health, sustainability, environmental requirements and delivering quality goods or services that meet specifications and satisfy Company needs.
  • Working within the management team to ensure that all vendor provided delivery dates satisfy the scheduled work activities.

  • Select, evaluate, and assist vendors with registering as a new potential vendor.
  • Prepares the request for quotation from purchase requisitions, drawings, specifications, and quality documentation.
  • Selects vendors from the Client and Company approved vendors and manufacturers list.
  • Negotiating and agreeing on the most beneficial terms and lowest cost with suppliers.
  • Buyers will interface with engineering to assess and evaluate both commercial and technical aspects of the quotes and make an award recommendation.
  • Prepares material and service purchase orders and forwards them to the successful vendor.
  • Leads and schedules procurement status meetings with the Client and Company management.
  • Prepares and issues weekly procurement dashboard for reporting progress of procurement activities.
  • Maintains and distributes weekly purchase order log.
  • Coordinating with the expeditor and vendor to resolve any open OSDQ.
  • Close-out of purchase orders
Your knowledge, skills, and experience:
  • Analytical mindset to analyze market trends, pricing data, and supplier proposals to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Effectively communicate with various levels of management.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems to manage purchasing processes and generate reports.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Teams, document management systems.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address and resolve issues with suppliers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and establish productive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Financial acumen to analyze pricing structures, cost-saving opportunities, and budget management.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, ethical procurement practices, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing market conditions, supplier availability, and business requirements.
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. (Preferred)
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
  • 5 years' experience as a buyer in the oil and gas industry.
