JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is recruiting for a Project Manager to join the team to oversee offshore and subsea projects within our Technical Consulting Division. This role will be based in our Aberdeen office with some hybrid working available.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing subsea engineering projects from initiation to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring that the projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting the highest standards of safety and quality. This role requires a strong background in subsea engineering, project management, and leadership skills.

The role offers a senior position in a highly visible and motivated team, with the opportunity to be part of a group with ambitious plans for further growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical Responsibilities

Project Planning:
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives and deliverables

Budget and Cost Management:
  • Manage project budgets and financial resources effectively
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to budget constraints

Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Implement risk management plans to minimize project disruptions

Resource Allocation:
  • Work closely with resource managers to allocate project resources efficiently
  • Ensure that project teams have the necessary skills and tools to achieve project goals

Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and oversee quality assurance and control processes
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to industry standards and regulations

Communication:
  • Establish clear and effective communications with project stakeholders
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, issues, and resolutions

HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment):
  • Champion a strong safety culture within the project team
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations

Stakeholder Management:
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Address stakeholder concerns promptly and professionally

Project Execution:
  • Oversee the execution of our subsea projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet quality standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve project-related issues in a timely manner
QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Proven experience in subsea project delivery and project management
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed
Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable
  • Relevant certifications in subsea engineering and safety protocols
Experience:

  • Considerable experience in subsea engineering and project management
Desirable:

  • Chartered engineer status preferred
