The Transformation delivery team sits within Commercial Operations and works in partnership with T&S to deliver capabilities that enable them to "run" the business, as well as build capabilities that "change" the business.

Some of the key areas of focus are around:

  • Data & Technology
  • Functional support

What's the role?

Reporting to the Transformation Operations Lead, the Change & Engage Transformation Manager is required to drive and deliver change activities that will accelerate and sustain the required change & transformation in T&S. This is in close partnership with Programme/Project Managers, and Business and Project stakeholders.

The programmes/projects are all highly complex, as they span multiple distinct businesses, geographies, and stakeholder groups.

More specific responsibilities include:
  • Custodian of the T&S Change Management Approach within TPD - ensuring the existing approach is continuously improved and embedded across T&S.
  • Provide advice, guidance and thought leadership for T&S wide C&E challenges.
  • Lead C&E activity for dedicated projects -
  • Support PMs to:
    • Scope the change activities that will best support the delivery of the change strategy and work with them to ensure change activity is embedded and accurately sequenced in the project plan.
    • Support the Business Opportunity Manager (BOM) and the PM to frame the problem statement enabling a clear articulation of the case for change.
  • Partner with project team members to drive alignment across a complex landscape of stakeholders who may hold a range of different views and support the Business Lead / PM to manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Advocate for the change and act as a support system for those who are delivering or are being impacted by the change, to ensure that the change is understood and fully embedded into BAU.
  • Define the Change strategy.
  • The case for change - drive clarity and alignment on why the change is needed.
  • Impact assessment - deliver a detailed assessment of the process, people, behavioural and organisational impacts the project will have on key stakeholder groups, and/or wider organization.
  • Stakeholder assessment and engagement plan - understand who the key stakeholders are and identify the most appropriate engagement channels & cadence to enable effective change delivery.
  • Change interventions - identify and execute change interventions that will enable impacted groups to successfully adapt to change.
  • Change Planning - Actively plan and agree when change interventions will be delivered, who will support their delivery, how and when.
  • Success metrics - define the success criteria to help motivate the change and measure its success.
  • Change materials - translate the change plan and interventions into materials that will effectively inform and/or change behaviour of the impacted stakeholders e.g., Quick reference guides, Frequently Asked Questions.
  • Business readiness - shape organisational and individual change readiness criteria and use it to determine if the right conditions are in place to successfully go-live. Define and execute on actions to close gaps.
  • Measure - Gap analysis - assess whether the project has delivered against the success metrics and define and execute on actions to close gaps.
  • Prepare materials for Steering Committee meetings, develop business engagement slide packs (e.g., change champion sessions) and prepare and share reports and updates to monitor progress, flagging any issues or blockers that may impact timescales or success.
  • Team - Maintain a collaborative working environment where the team is motivated to deliver and actively develop the culture of a high performing team.
  • Coaching & development - no direct reports but expected to coach and guide project managers on Change Management within the project delivery organisation.

What we need from you

We are keen to hear from individuals with extensive experience in change management - process, systems and behavioural change. You must be able to demonstrate ability to tease out requirements and key issues to harness ideas and interventions that will drive organisations and individuals to change. You will also bring in your strategic problem-solving skills with the ability to grab a problem that is abstract or poorly defined, and transform it into one that is clear, understood and has all stakeholders in alignment. We are also looking for delivery focused individuals who are driven to deliver on commitments even when the situation is ambiguous and vague. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience is essential.

Business Skills:
  • Knowledge and/or competence in Trading, Supply, Risk, Compliance, Process, Data, or Systems.
  • Change Management - proven ability to deliver change management activity & embed sustainable change outcomes, in a highly complex matrix environment.
  • Stakeholder management - build strong stakeholder relationships and influence without authority to drive sponsorship, buy-in and sign-off during projects. Proven ability to navigate push back from stakeholders and develop an aligned way forward path.
  • Aligned with Shells values of Honesty, Integrity, Respect with a focus on Safety.
