JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our MPD group within NOV, we are looking for the industry's brightest minds to further enhance our successful Managed Pressure Drilling business in the Eastern Hemisphere and we are now recruiting for a MPD Wellsite Supervisor. As part of NOV's Wellsite Services Group within the Wellbore Technologies segment, you will be able to demonstrate not only the technical knowledge required but the ability to manage a MPD operation from start to finish using NOV best practises to achieve your clients drilling objectives. This role will be based in China supporting Chinese clients and working with our agent in country to provide technical support.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Takes the lead to ensure all MPD data presented to the customer is accurate, timely and meets the highest service quality standards possible on the rig site.
  • Co-ordinate and oversee all onsite operational aspects of the project, providing senior responsibility over the MPD equipment and field personnel being utilized.
  • Provides on-site supervision of the MPD Operation including equipment preparations, data acquisition, log generation and Quality Control (QC), and delivery of the services to the customer.
  • Maintain that the operational activities are executed in line with the confirmed drilling program.
  • Ensures that all Q&HSE and procedural issues are followed as per the documented project requirements.
  • Actively participate in the knowledge management system within the segment keeping up with the continuous improvement culture
  • Ensure full compliance with NOV and customers HSE policies
  • Supervise, coordinate, implement, monitor, evaluate and report daily operations, variances and performance against the well program objectives and third-party contracts.
  • The implementation, supervision, and coordination of daily activities.
  • Plan and execute activities as they relate to Oil and Gas Drilling as part of NOV's high performance team.
  • Safe completions of projects within planning cost and time goals.
  • Oversee logistics (equipment, manpower, materials).
  • Communicate with engineering, subsurface teams, and vendors in planning and executing work.
  • Manage onsite operations safely and efficiently, and lead field personnel to deliver the business objectives in full compliance
  • Leads the effort to interface with the Driller and Company Representative to ensure planned operating parameters are within specification of MPD equipment.
  • To oversee equipment transportation during logistical movements to prevent equipment mishandling and/or damage.
  • Keeping records of all field maintenance and communicate both minor and major repairs/maintenance reports with the MPD Operations Supervisor.
  • Ensures all the equipment, personnel, and resources needed to perform the service is available.
  • Co-ordination of both equipment and personnel safety, during the rig up and rig down on each well.
  • Advise and assist with pre-activity safety meetings, as per the Q&HSE guidelines and operational procedures for this type of application.
  • Ensure compliance, and assist the crew's implementation, of all Q&HSE procedures during the operational project activity.
  • Ensure each individual person on a crew applies the experience and ability they have, whilst operating the various MPD system components during the project.
  • Assists in the evaluation of individual performance levels of onsite MPD personnel. Assists in training and development of junior offshore personnel.
  • Record the use of the onsite spares and inventory, in accordance with daily consumables utilized during operations,
  • Ensure that relevant records are forwarded, allowing suitable time for the NOV base to establish replacement items
