JOB DESCRIPTION
Fitters are responsible for fitting, fabricating, and assembling the piping/structural components that make up mechanical/structural component/systems. They also repair and service machinery as required. Fitters may work in the work shop and/or open yard multiple type of product fabrication. experienced fitter, good attendance with discipline, work safe, NS work accepted, comply safety and company regulation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fitters are responsible for fitting, fabricating, and assembling the piping/structural components that make up mechanical/structural component/systems. Fitters may work in the work shop and/or open yard multiple type of product fabrication. experienced fitter, good attendance with discipline, work safe, NS work accepted, comply safety and company regulation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Replacing damaged or defective structural components as needed.
- Adhering to all work-site safety rules and regulations.
- Using welding equipment to performing tack welding on structural/piping components.
- Utilizing shears, power saws, cutting torches, and chipper knives to cut structural components as needed.
- High school diploma or GED
- Appropriate state certification
- Proven experience working as a Fitter
- The ability to concentrate for extended periods.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional welding and mechanical skills.
- Sound knowledge of building codes.
- The ability to use hand and power tools.
- The ability to interpret blueprints for mechanical systems
