JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview: We are seeking skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team for an upcoming onshore shutdown project. The role involves executing mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation tasks during the shutdown period, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical fitting duties including installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of equipment according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Conduct inspections, diagnose mechanical issues, and propose solutions to ensure the smooth running of machinery and equipment.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery and components, adhering to technical drawings, manuals, and engineering instructions.
  • Collaborate with a team of technicians, engineers, and contractors to execute tasks within set timelines and quality parameters.
  • Utilize various hand and power tools, measuring equipment, and machinery to complete assigned tasks.
  • Comply with safety procedures, regulations, and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Document work activities, maintain records, and report progress to supervisors and project managers.
QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Fitting or Engineering: Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar role within industrial settings, particularly in shutdown or maintenance projects, with a recognized vocational qualification.

Proficient in Reading Technical Drawings and Manuals: Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings, diagrams, and manuals commonly used in mechanical installations and repairs.

Competency in Utilizing Hand and Power Tools: Demonstrated capability in effectively and safely using a wide range of hand and power tools commonly employed in mechanical fitting tasks.

Comprehensive Knowledge of Mechanical Systems: Strong understanding and practical experience with mechanical systems, components, and equipment used in industrial settings.

Adaptability and Fast-Paced Work Capability: Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adjust priorities accordingly to meet project demands.

Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting mechanical issues as they arise during the shutdown period.

Commitment to Safety Standards: Dedication to adhering strictly to safety guidelines, regulations, and protocols, promoting and maintaining a culture of safety in the workplace.

Relevant Trade Qualifications or Certifications: Possession of recognized trade qualifications or certifications in mechanical fitting, engineering, or a related field within the UK.
