Wood is seeking expressions of interest from Quality Measuring Instrument Technicians with proven Oil & Gas Maintenance experience to join our team., at the Ampol Refinery. For 10+ years, Wood has held a Maintenance contract at Lytton, and have been heavily imbedded into the Ampol culture with a strong focus on team alignment across the contracting teams.

This role will play a pivotal part in the continued support of our maintenance contract at Ampol, as well as being a part of a supportive and innovative team.

QUALIFICATIONS

As Woods next QMI Technician, the below skills are required:

  • Must be Electrical Trade Qualified with proven maintenance experience in heavy industry environment,
  • Demonstrated the principles, practices and execution of Instrument and Electrical Equipment maintenance.
  • Demonstrate fault finding and troubleshooting on Instrument and Electrical Equipment
  • Working experience on the following QMI Analytical equipment. TCD, FID, FPD Gas Chromatographs, Continuous Gas Analysers, TDLS, Moisture Analysers, Sample Conditioning Systems.
  • Show initiative and contribute ideas and constructive advice to solve operational and maintenance problems or increase efficiency or unit reliability.
  • Highlight issues and solutions to responsible Supervisors /Engineers
  • Able to work autonomously & multi-task
  • Skilled in the maintenance of the following equipment
  • ICSS/DCS Systems
  • Analysers and related sample system
  • QMI Systems
  • Turbine Control Systems
  • PLC's
  • Control and SD Valves
  • Vibration Monitoring systems
  • General Instrumentation.
Qualifications

  • Trade certificate and QLD Electrical trade licence is essential (Electrical Mechanic, Electrical Fitter/Mechanic, Instrumentation)
  • Dual trade qualification in electrical/instrumentation is required, with a Cert III in Instrument and Control
  • Cert IV in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) required
  • Prior Vendor Gas Chromatograph Training (ABB, Yokogwawa, Rosemount).
  • Working knowledge of SAP - required
  • LVR/CPR required
  • High voltage switching operations (desirable)
  • Working at Heights and High-risk EWP licence (desirable).
