JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently taking expressions of interest for Mechanical Engineer specialising in rotating equipment to join our Capital Projects Group to work on large scale projects in the Oil and Gas , Carbon Capture and Sequestration, Petrochemicals and Chemicals, Green Energy, Recycling, and Mineral Processing Industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Rotating Equipment Engineers are a key part of our project teams and are typically responsible for the following:
  • Providing advice on the selection of rotating equipment
  • Specification of pumps, compressors and other rotating equipment, including drivers, seal and lube systems by preparing Technical Specifications and Mechanical Data Sheets
  • Engagement with, and evaluation of specialist equipment suppliers, including preparation of requisitions and evaluation reports
  • Managing the integration of rotating equipment into overall facility design by liaising between equipment suppliers and other Wood specialist engineers
  • Providing specialist input to design reviews, risk assessments and constructability reviews
  • Supporting Inspection and Testing of Equipment, and attend testing for critical equipment
  • Supporting Construction and Commissioning

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Chartered Status or working towards Chartered Status with a recognised engineering institution.
  • Enthusiasm to develop your career in the Engineering Contracting industry.
  • Experience in working with rotating equipment in the oil, gas, petrochemical or related industries
  • Able to demonstrate initiative, tenacity and excellent communication skills
  • Flexible attitude and ability to work in multi-disciplinary team environments
  • Computer literate within Microsoft Office
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
