Brunel are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to work with our market leading client in the mining industry. The ideal candidate will be at the centre of contributing to the design and implementation of electrical systems across various projects. The successful candidate will have the chance to further develop their skills and expertise in electrical engineering while making meaningful contributions to the success of projects. Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Design: Utilize electrical engineering principles to contribute to the detailed design process of various projects.
Calculation and Deliverables: Perform and oversee calculations essential to electrical design, including cable sizing, load lists, and equipment lists. Ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
HV Substation Design: Participate in the secondary design phase of high voltage (HV) substations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, designers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within overall project designs.
Documentation: Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings, and specifications related to electrical design elements.
Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on design work to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and project standards.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues or challenges that may arise during the design and implementation phases of projects.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and best practices in electrical design engineering, and apply knowledge to enhance design processes and outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
• \t Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• \t 2-3 years of experience in detailed design engineering, preferably within the electrical engineering sector.
• \t Proficiency in completing calculations and deliverables such as cable sizing, load lists, and equipment lists.
• \t Experience in secondary design aspects of HV substations is highly desirable.
• \t Strong technical skills with electrical design software and tools.
• \t Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• \t Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
