Qualifications / Experience required:

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is required and 10+ years of experience in a similar role within an accounting / finance organization.
  • Significant experience in accounting, inventory being a plus with a clear ability to take on and understand various accounting topics to become subject matter expert.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, high versatility, and accountability.

Activities

As the Inventory Accountant for a multi-billion-dollar scope working in one of the largest companies in the world, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, providing support and collaborating with key stakeholders and the team. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing inventory management and financial accuracy.

Responsibilities

Inventory Management:

• Overseeing inventories matters leading to complete and accurate accounting records (valuation, classification, etc.), in a timely matter.

• Collaborate across teams to provide an appropriate oversight of the inventory levels.

• Resolve inventory discrepancies and address issues promptly.

• Address inventory-related challenges and propose solutions.

Compliance and Process Improvement:

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

• Prepare documentation and gather audit evidence.

• Identify inefficiencies in inventory accounting processes, drive standardization, continuous improvement, and best practices.

Accountabilities

• Maintain and update inventory records with precision, ensuring real-time accuracy.

• Identify inefficiencies in inventory accounting processes, suggest improvements and take the lead to make the change.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline inventory management.

• Work closely across teams (Controlling, Business, etc.), with the Shared Service Center Team and within the other accounting teams.

• Become the subject matter expert related to inventory for the whole US operations.
