JOB TITLE: Corrosion Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the integrity teams in order to promote best practice techniques in such areas such as materials selection, inspection methods, certification requirements and corrosion management.
  • Advise project teams regarding integrity, corrosion, materials, and inspection requirements.
  • Provide support to the asset integrity teams in the management of third-party contractors.
  • Perform RBI Studies including risk assessments and development of inspection plans.
  • Perform regular review of corrosion control activities on the assets and attend/chair Corrosion Control Meetings.
  • Participate in Integrity Forums to promote best practice and new techniques.
  • Site and offshore visits, as required.
  • Role has no financial accountability or control.
  • Exhibit strong independent and team problem solving qualities.
  • Analysis driven decision making related to the activities of RBI, corrosion assessment, corrosion control and protection.
  • Routinely asked to provide support and advise to a wide range of problems where the problem is at the edge of going beyond procedural requirements such as FFS and deferrals related to anomalies and inspection management.
  • Where failures occur the available information is analysed to determine the most likely cause or causes and to assign follow up actions.
  • Determining repair requirements for complex geometry items.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Demonstrable relevant industry experience of a minimum of 5 years, including:
  • Subject matter expertise
  • Project management
  • Bids, tenders, proposals and CTRs
  • Management / supervision of personnel
  • Confident in own abilities taking full ownership for decisions and activities.
  • Self-motivated and committed to work consistently to the highest standards.
  • Strong analytical mind with ability to investigate and interpret data.
  • Able to demonstrate considerable experience in the practical application of relevant best practice, industry standards and statutory legislation.
  • Considerable knowledge in the relevant discipline engineering principles and their application within the respective sphere of operations relevant to the position.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) culture.
  • Conversant and knowledgeable with current health and safety legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act, codes of practice and guidance relevant to the position.
