Project Engineering Manager

If you share our clear vision to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking a Project Engineering Manager, reporting directly to Director of Project Management to join our Engineering Management team based in Houston, Texas, USA.

About the Job

The job is to lead a multi-discipline team to successfully execute the engineering and technical aspects of projects with values greater than 100 million USD. The position will report to the Project Director/Manager on large and mega projects. On smaller projects the position may function as the Project Manager as well as the engineering manager. You will also support proposals and small projects on a part-time basis when not deployed full time on a project utilizing your skill set.

You will be involved in the day-to-day coordination and supervision of discipline engineers and designers; coordination with the procurement team and project controls team; interface with client, vendors and contractors; and other aspects of Engineer, Procure, Construct, Commission and Start-up projects. You will also be responsible for coordinating and facilitating work executed in Technip Energies offices in Colombia and India and elsewhere worldwide.

The essential functions of the role are to assure
  • Compliance with HSES and Quality policies
  • Complete and accurate engineering and design;
  • Technical compliance of materials and equipment;
  • Timely support by the disciplines through procurement and subcontracting processes;
  • Accurate reporting of progress;
  • Early warning for items that pose a risk to the project; and,
  • Adherence to budgets and schedules.

This specific position is for a Project Engineering Manager to direct and coordinate process and piperack module development, fabrication and installation. The position is Houston based during the engineering and procurement phases. The position is intended to transition to an assignment at the module fabrication facility and then to the construction site for module installation. Locations and durations of module fabrication will depend on the specific Project.

About You

Wed love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements:

Qualifications:
  • 1+ years engineering or field engineering management at an international module fabrication facility
  • 5+ years as project engineer or more senior position responsible for modules as part of a large or mega project
  • Ability to relocate to USA and international module facilities
  • 3+ year field engineering or management at a USA construction site for a petrochemical, refining or LNG project
  • Relevant experience in the walk-down, punch-list closure, preservation, and hand-over of modules
  • Relevant experience with ocean transport of modules
  • 10+ years engineering and design of petrochemical, refining or LNG projects to US codes and standards
  • Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or Structural engineering education or equivalent experience


Main Skills:
  • Competency with critical path method scheduling
  • Competency with earned value and value of work done progress and productivity measurement system
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications
