The Digital Class Product Manager is directly responsible for providing leadership on assigned products and related development projects. This includes the improvement and support of existing software and new products. The position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and troubleshooting skills, also the ability to establish positive client and internal team relationships. Prioritization and flexibility daily are essential to succeed in this position.

What You Will Do:
  • Manage full product life cycle (requirements, scope including CRs, cost, schedule, testing, quality, and post-deployment support) from strategic planning to tactical activities for application development and integration.
  • Gather requirements to improve the product by conducting market research supported by ongoing visits to customers, non-customers, business owners, and competitor product surveys.
  • Streamline processes to have seamless integration of the product with other applications including Windchill, FEA/CFD Tools, and custom-built software.
  • Project management for implementation projects as directed. Responsible for all aspects of implementation projects including planning, execution, staff supervision, support, and follow-up on client issues.
  • Working and partnering across departments, primarily Wavesight, IMS, Business Development, and Marketing, in coordinating product development, maintenance, and marketing activities.
  • Develop system acceptance testing criteria and documentation of test results.
  • Develop and coordinate the development of product documentation, including all levels of system documentation.
  • Coordinate with product development teams and resolve day-to-day dependencies to minimize schedule and cost impact.
  • Communicates project status, customer concerns, etc. to senior management, client support, and user groups.
  • Provide training and documentation to internal and external clients, including the help desk team.
  • Conduct product progress reviews with vendors and management to keep all stakeholders posted on the current progress and risks.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and training to sub-ordinates to adopt an efficient way of working.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues.
  • Ensure the development of standards, policies, and procedures for all functions involved with or related to the delivery of software services and products. Responsible for ensuring services and products comply with all company standards.
  • Reviews and resolves quality control problems/concerns with management and others related to the production of software services or products.
  • Meets and confers with all levels of software management to monitor customer satisfaction with company services/products and to provide input to project identification, prioritization, staffing, and scheduling to meet company needs and objectives.
  • Responsible for approving the implementation or shipment of software products after evaluating the level of compliance with company standards.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in a business-related field from an accredited university or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5 or more years of industry experience in product development and/or integration with 2 or more years of staff management experience.
  • Master's degree is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proven experience and knowledge of the full software development life cycle and systems development environment with project management responsibility.
  • Agile development training or related experience is a plus.
  • Drives flawless execution of day-to-day software development as well as continuous improvement initiatives, and the management of critical projects and programs.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle changing priorities.
  • Ability to identify problems, research issues, and collaborate with others to provide options for resolution.
  • 'Hands-on' leader with the ability to quickly bond with the business management team and forge strong sustainable relationships with both the business and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple enterprise-level custom development projects, as well as supporting products and working with end-users for support and enhancements.
  • Ability to undertake short and long-term planning to provide for efficient and effective scheduling of work on the project.
  • Realization of financial aspects of approved business plans and budgets for the project.
  • Clarity and conciseness in oral and written communications; demonstrated capability to produce effective presentations for delivery to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism.
  • Strong project management skills to drive multiple timelines within MS Excel, cross-functional communication, and customization based on the customer.
  • Well organized, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.
  • Knowledge of CAD modeling software such as Creo, Aveva's TRIBON, CATIA, Pro-E, Ship Constructor, AutoCAD, or equivalent will be an advantage.

Reporting Relationships:

The incumbent will report to a Manager, Director, or Executive level position. May have Individual Contributor direct reports.
