About the Job

The Head of Real Estate and Facilities plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the companys real estate portfolio, ensuring profitability, and compliance with regulations. He/She manages the team of buildings operations and services including travel management and ensures the implementation of best standards of facilities in the sector.

Our current main offices are in Houston, Boston, Claremont and Bogota. We also have our R&D center in Weymouth, close to Boston. Our business is in development in North America and in Europe, in sustainable chemistry. The position also includes the management of the future facilities.

The following is an overview of the responsibilities and competencies associated with this position:

Site Selection and Acquisition:
  • Identify suitable locations for future chemical regeneration centers. Consider factors such as proximity to suppliers, transportation networks, and regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluate properties for acquisition, lease, or development, ensuring they align with the companys growth plans.

Portfolio Management:
  • Manage the existing real estate portfolio, including offices and the industrial sites/R&D center and negotiate and finalize transactions.
  • Optimize space utilization, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee lease negotiations, renewals, and terminations.
  • Supervises relocation project(s)

Environmental Compliance and Sustainability:
  • Collaborate with environmental experts to ensure compliance with companys ambitious goals on sustainability and compliance with regulations.
  • Implement sustainable practices, energy-efficient designs, and waste & water reduction strategies.
  • Drive initiatives for decarbonization and eco-friendly operations and travel.

Risk Mitigation:
  • Assess risks associated with real estate assets, including offices, industrial plants, or R&D centers, including the impact of climate change on our current and future assets.
  • Develop contingency plans for emergencies, safety protocols, and disaster recovery.

Stakeholder Management:
  • Manage a team of facility managers and site operations & services managers, supervisors, coordinators, and contractors.
  • Liaise with internal teams (operations, finance, legal, HSE and security, IT, People and culture, communication) and external partners (real estate brokers, contractors, regulatory bodies).
  • Communicate effectively with senior management regarding real estate strategies and decisions.
  • Comply with T.EN global policies, rules, standards and procedures.
  • Issue monthly and quarterly reports with relevant key KPIs to his/her manager.

Financial Management:
  • Prepare budgets for real estate operations, maintenance, and capital expenditures with his/her team and gets approvals from senior management.
  • Monitor expenses, analyze cost-saving opportunities, and report financial performance.

Health and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Implement safety protocols and emergency response plans.

Strategic Planning:
  • Align local real estate strategies with the companys overall business goals.
  • Anticipate future needs and plan for expansion or consolidation.

About You

Wed love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements:
  • Education: A bachelors degree in real estate, business administration, or a related field is required, with advanced experience in Real Estate and Facilities management including industrial chemical sites.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in sustainability, energy management, and environmental compliance is essential for success in this role.
    • Familiarity with technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices, including digital solutions and tools.
    • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles.
    • Knowledge of legal and compliance principles.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
    • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Managing priorities across multiple projects and stakeholders
    • Managing the stakeholders to get the required approvals on projects execution, expenditures, planning between the corporate team and the operating centers.
