The Project Controls Analyst will be a new or recent College graduate that will enter the work force through a rotation program providing support to the Project Controls, and Risk groups. The employee will rotate through the various disciplines of Cost Control, Planning & Scheduling, and Risk Management. The total duration for the Graduate Rotation Program is 3-6 months.

The first week of the program will involve an Orientation Program designed to expose the employee to the functions directly related to the rotation as well as other functions in the business such as Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Management, Project Engineering and all other aspects of the company. At the completion of the rotation program the Project Controls Analyst will be assigned into one of the Cost Control, Planning & Scheduling or Risk Management disciplines to continue their career.

The Project Controls, and Risk group plays an essential business advisory role supporting Project Management in the effective execution of complex projects. Blending technical skills and business acumen, this career path prepares you to be an active contributor to the entire project life cycle. Problem solving skills and analytical capabilities are applied to monitor the performance of the project and deviations from budget, schedule, and work scope. Close interactions to other key project participants should lead to in-depth understanding of day-to-day project execution. As part of your critical role in reporting business results you will have regular contact with both Executive Management and Clients.

Examples of the topics that may be involved in the rotation assignment are as follows:

COST CONTROL

• Setup baseline budget and administer cost database
• Collect actual expenditures for labor hours and cost as well as for material/equipment
• Identify cost trends and labor productivity being experienced on the project
• Support critical function of forecasting total cost for the life of project
• Identify adverse cost impacts through routine analysis and reporting
• Support the change management process

PLANNING & SCHEDULING

• Support the project planning process
• Assist development of the detailed schedule
• Provide summary schedules
• Identify and track the critical path
• Identify schedule deviations and potential delays
• Set up and monitor the physical earned progress for the project

RISK MANAGEMENT:

• Attend pre-award risk sessions with Commercial Managers
• Help facilitate post-award risk sessions with project teams
• Update and distribute risk register based on project team input
• Provide input in Project Risk Management Plans
• Provide input in Project Cost Sensitivity Analysis
• Attend Quantitative Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis sessions

Must Have Skills:

• Self-motivated and detail-oriented professional
• Good analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills
• Advanced skills with MS Excel software
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business or related

Nice to Have Skills:

• Exposure to topics in the energy transition business
• Exposure to concepts related to estimating, project controls, and risk in the energy industry
• Exposure to MS Power BI software
• Exposure to MS PowerPoint software
• Demonstrated leadership position with Student Organization
• Student membership in any recognized Estimating, Project Controls, or Risk Management professional organization
• Student membership in Engineering or Business industry professional organization
