About the job:

The Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment) will be part of our Kent Houston Offshore Engineering Team involved in the detailed design of process and utility systems for new offshore and onshore projects, and working on designing upgrades and solving challenging problems for our clients' existing onshore and offshore facilities. This position is based in our office in Houston, TX with the possibility of up to 10% international travel.

Your responsibilities:
  • Support the technical development and review of discipline-specific deliverables, including:
    • Specifications & Datasheets.
    • Calculations (Fluids, Stress Analysis etc.)
    • Material selection reports.
    • Scope of work documents.
    • Procurement and installation contracts.
    • Review the related engineering deliverables against specifications and regulatory requirements.
    • Attend vendor performance and acceptance tests.
    • Develop operations and maintenance procedures.
    • Address technical queries and prepare technical deviations.
  • Support and perform investigative studies and engineering scopes. Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
  • May work directly with client operating company personnel.
  • Uphold professional ethics and standards of conduct.
  • Work involves directing research and solving unprecedented technical problems of considerable scope and complexity, the solution of which may have a far-reaching impact on extensive technical activities of the firm.
  • Strong persuasive ability, technical writing and communications skills are required at this level, proven through such technical presentations, technical papers and/or participation in technical committees that will demonstrate an advanced state-of-the-art technical expertise.


Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Qualification/ Certification:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • This level may be achieved by technical professionals with a minimum of 12+ years of Oil & Gas experience since Bachelor's degree.
  • Professional certification/registration is preferred.
  • Has a good level of knowledge about auxiliary and utility systems (instrument air, lube oil, vibration monitoring, mechanical seals etc.).
  • Offshore Oil & Gas major project experience or Oil & Gas facilities (operations) experience is required.
  • Experience with different types of rotating equipment.
