JOB TITLE: Senior Superintendent - Construction (Equipment/Piping/Mechanical)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Construction Superintendent will work with the Subcontractors supervision, directing activities to project priorities, ensuring that required support is available, monitoring labour and equipment levels for efficiency.

Discipline Specific Duties - Equipment Installation & Piping:

• Conversant with Installation methods, prerequisites, preparation, associated tools and inspection methods.
• Experience in handling Installation of various mechanical equipment for Oil and Gas projects, both static and rotating.
• Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Hands-on experience on performing alignment work on rotating equipment and post alignment checks.
• Prepare inspection reports/check list (on the project format/ITR).
• Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and other activities. Should have thorough knowledge type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers according to job specifications.
• Management of preservation on all types of equipment and ensure this is carried out as per project specification reviewing preservation check sheets and periodic inspections. Plan preventative maintenance work and feed into the project duration.
• Having a strong knowledge of fabrication and erection piping spools, flanges, valves, mechanical seals and mechanical seal systems. Knowledge on piping Tie-in to the equipment (static and rotary) and associated checks.
• Ensure implementation of Flange management procedure. Review pipe pressure test procedure and ensure implementation of Go/NoGo and safety checklist prior to pressure testing.
• Preparation of work, monitoring of punch lists and red lining of erection mechanical GA drawings P&IDs. After completion of works ensuring feedback & close work.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• The Ability to understand installation procedures and implement mechanical / piping / equipment drawings (section DWG; construction DWG; P&ID; Piping Isometric Drawings, Levelling, and alignment specifications, Soft-foot specification, flushing/blowing procedure; piping specification; spring supports hot-alignment methods).
• Knowledge on pre-commissioning checks.
• Equipment installation / Mechanical and Piping site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors.
• Good communications skills.
• Must have a thorough working knowledge of International Codes and Standards, specifically ASME and API Codes/practices, and specifications.
• Has knowledge and experience to Mechanical / Piping / HVAC issues onsite and provide guidance to subcontractors.
• Computer proficiency, communication & interpersonal skills, fluent in written & spoken English, software skills to include the use of word, e-mail, spread sheets and presentation.
• Positive can do attitude & strong work ethic, conceptual thinking, problem solving, Optimise the installation of equipment method and sequence.
