Key Job Accountabilities:
- • Support major business functions and provide detailed and in-depth specialized IT technical expertise to maintain applications support environment. Check all requests for support and manage according to agreed procedures.
- • Investigate operational issues, problems, and requests for support, in coordination with colleagues and other stakeholders, seeking effective solutions. Analyzes underlying issues and their root causes and identifies available options for resolution.
- • Responds to requests for support by means of making system modifications, developing workarounds, manipulating data, reconfiguring systems, changing operating procedures, training users, producing documentation, or escalating requests to development team or software suppliers.
- • Monitors progress of requests for support and ensures users and other stakeholders are kept informed. Takes corrective action to avoid or minimize delays.
- • Performs moderately complex software modifications independently or works with colleagues on larger or more complex software, specifies user interfaces, including inputs, reports, validation and error correction procedures, processing rules, access, security and audit controls, recovery routines and contingency procedures.
- • Carries out routine configuration, installation and reconfiguration of Business Applications, Database Management Systems, and related Tools & Technologies.
- • Install, configure, and maintain various database software, optimizing performance and ensuring compatibility with applications.
- • Develop and test disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss in case of major disruptions.
- • Continuously monitor database performance metrics like resource utilization, query execution times, and error logs to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- • Use systematic approach to plan, create, and maintain data architectures while also keeping it aligned with business requirements.
- • Extract data from various sources, including databases, APIs, sensors, and log files.
- • Develop and maintain data pipelines to automate data movement and transformation.
- • Cleanse and prepare data by identifying and correcting errors, inconsistencies, and missing values.
- • Transform data into formats suitable for analysis, such as applying data modeling techniques.
- • Develop and implement data quality checks and monitoring processes.
- • Coordinates with colleagues and other stakeholders to specify data, data objects and information flows that align with the needs of the business.
- • Ensures compliance with information security policies and standards. Assesses configurations and security procedures for adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
- • Ensures all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- • Bachelor's degree in any Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems discipline.
- • 8 years' IT experience with competent knowledge in core skill applications, tools, and techniques.
- • Strong knowledge and experience of managing and administering the Oracle 19c, SQL Server 2016 and higher version databases on different platforms.
- • Experience of managing and administering SQL Server database on Azure cloud
- • Well Versed with Database High availability solutions like oracle RAC/DataGuard and Windows Fail safe.
- • Experience in SQL Server database administration covering, Alwayson, Mirroring, backup.
- • and restore using networker and native technologies.
- • Well versed with the conversion of Oracle database to SQL Server databases and vice versa
- • Conversant with relevant IT national and international standards.
- • Demonstrated experience in IT support environment.
- • Excellent written and spoken English.
- • Strong project management and analytical problem solving skills.
- • Specialized technical expertise and broader IT knowledge.
- • Compliance to risk, security, and continuity management principles.
