We are currently hiring a Biomanufacturing Trainer and Site Manager for our client based in Vancouver, British Columbia. This individual will be reporting to the Associate Director of Technical Training they will take a leadership role in overseeing the set-up and operations of the greater Vancouver Training Facility and supporting the company's overall strategy.

As an expert in the field of biopharmaceutical manufacturing and bioprocessing, this person will work with the Associate Director of Technical Training and other team members to deliver world-class in-person, virtual and practical hands-on training to a variety of learners.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of Technical Training and the technical training team as well as industry and academic partners to develop curriculum and programming that meets the needs of the biopharma manufacturing industry.
  • \r\n
  • Represent the company's and manage relationships when working with various vendors, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • \r\n
  • Delivery of training material, including lectures and practical content in biopharmaceutical processing operations (in-person and online). Delivery of customized training materials for clients onsite, online, or offsite.
  • \r\n
  • Work with the company's team and partners to ensure the curriculum is responsive to the needs of industry.
  • \r\n
  • Self-directed learning/professional development to ensure current knowledge of bioprocessing and awareness of industry trends and advances.
  • \r\n
  • Implementation and maintenance of documentation for the company's facility and business activities (SOPs, production batch records, project proposals and technical reports).
  • \r\n
  • Supporting the company's in the delivery of new and expanded methods of training (e.g., eLearning, blended learning etc.)
  • \r\n
  • Host tours of the company's training facility and attend business development meetings with prospective clients.
  • \r\n
  • Evaluate training programs to ensure they are responsive to the needs of client and make changes and redesign where necessary.
  • \r\n
  • Plan, organize, and lead training programs, ensuring proper execution and outcomes of learning objectives.
  • \r\n
  • Lead discussions with other stakeholders in biopharma training facility design and equipment needs/purchase
  • \r\n
  • Work with business development representative to identify viable clients and support development of client base of the training facility.
  • \r\n
  • Research, source, and manage the purchase, installation, and maintenance of necessary scientific equipment and consumables.
  • \r\n
  • Supervise and manage other biopharma training and support staff including contract trainers as assigned to facility.
  • \r\n
  • Manage day-to-day operations of Vancouver l Training Facility
  • \r\n
  • Manage the receiving, installation, and maintenance of necessary training equipment for Vancouver.
  • \r\n
  • Work with the Executive Director, Director of Tech Training, and the designated project manager for the facility design and fit-up.
  • \r\n
  • Manage training and technician staff assigned to the Vancouver Facility.
  • \r\n
  • Manage training materials and consumable inventory and costs associated with the Vancouver Facility.
  • \r\n
  • Ensure safe operation and maintenance of laboratory and plant equipment and liaising with the facilities team to resolve problems.
  • \r\n

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, such as biopharmaceutical science, biotechnology, or a related discipline.
  • \r\n
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and bioprocessing operations.
  • \r\n
  • Proven experience in training and curriculum development, preferably in a biomanufacturing context.
  • \r\n
  • Prior experience in a leadership or managerial role, overseeing staff and operations.
  • \r\n
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with industry and academic partners to develop comprehensive training curriculum.
  • \r\n
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage relationships with vendors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • \r\n
  • Proficiency in delivering training materials, both in-person and online, related to biopharmaceutical processing operations.
  • \r\n
  • Proficiency in evaluating training programs to ensure they meet client needs and the flexibility to redesign programs as required.
  • \r\n
  • Strong project management skills to plan, organize, and lead training programs effectively.
  • \r\n
