The Energy Engineer will play a critical role in ABS Groups' mission to deliver energy efficiency solutions to our clients. This role will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to analyze energy consumption data, conduct energy audits, identify energy conservation opportunities, and develop and implement energy efficiency measures for commercial and industrial facilities. This role will also collaborate with clients, utility companies, and internal teams to ensure successful project implementation and customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead large teams to work on project tasks under the supervision of a project manager to ensure quality services are delivered on schedule and within available budget to meet customer requirements.
    • Perform energy audits and assessments of commercial and industrial facilities to identify energy conservation opportunities
    • Analyze energy consumption data, utility bills, and facility operations to identify potential areas for energy savings
    • Develop and implement energy efficiency measures, including lighting upgrades, HVAC system optimizations, and building envelope improvements
    • Conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses to evaluate the financial and environmental impact of energy efficiency projects
    • Collaborate with clients, utility companies, and internal teams to gather data, coordinate project activities, and ensure compliance with project requirements
    • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in energy efficiency and sustainability
    • Assist senior engineers and project managers in project planning, design, and implementation
    • Collaborate with researchers, faculty, and staff at local energy research programs
  • Develop relationships with existing customers to facilitate development of new business.
    • Attending client meetings to discuss technical topics
    • Meeting with new and existing clients to listen to their needs
    • Communicating client needs to project managers and supervisors
  • Identify new business opportunities with existing customers for current and/or additional services
    • Participate in marketing activities, conference presentations, technical whitepapers
    • Assist with proposal development including writing proposals, estimating level of effort,
    • Learn, understand and be conversant in ABS Group products and services
    • Review published reports and news articles about existing and potential new clients to identify customer intelligence
    • Networking to meet new potential clients

What You Will Need:
  • 4-5 years of professional experience, with 1-2 years of experience in energy engineering, energy auditing, natural gas piping or related fields.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Energy Engineering, Power Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training

  • Utility programs, incentives, and rebates for energy efficiency
  • Data analysis and interpretation of energy consumption data, utility bills, and facility operations
  • Energy auditing and assessment techniques, including data collection, measurement, and verification
  • Energy efficiency project development and implementation, including design and specification development
  • Technical report writing and presentation skills for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze and interpret energy consumption data, utility bills, and facility operations
  • Ability to conduct energy audits and assessments of commercial and industrial facilities
  • Ability to develop and implement energy efficiency measures, including lighting upgrades, HVAC system optimizations, and building envelope improvements
  • Ability to perform economic analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate the financial and environmental impact of energy efficiency projects
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Practical knowledge of gas leak detection equipment
  • Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System

Reporting Relationships:

Could report to the Senior Project Manager, Program Manager, Director or Executive level position
