We are currently seeking a Designer - Instrumentation & Controls (I&C). As a Designer, you will produce, support, and/or lead the development of I&C systems deliverables on a project, including design drawings including wiring diagrams, location plans, installation details, loop diagrams, panel drawings, Remote Instrument Building layouts for LNG, Energy Transition, Carbon Capture, Refining and Petrochemical Plant projects.

Job Overview:
We are seeking experienced I&C Designers on a contract basis. As a Principal Designer, you will produce, support, and/or lead the development of Instrumentation and Control systems deliverables on a project, including design drawings including wiring diagrams, location plans, installation details, loop diagrams, panel drawings, Remote Instrument Building layouts for LNG, Energy Transition, Carbon Capture, Refining and Petrochemical Plant projects.

Job Overview:

Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Lead Instrument and Control Systems Engineer on a particular project
- Monitors and advises Lead Engineer and Manager of project changes
- Lead small projects, critical applications, and handles complex equipment
- Establishes design concepts and design data for scope assigned to group and assures technical accuracy and conformance to project requirements
- Prepares project scope deviations documentation as required
- Reports progress and updates schedules on particular tasks
- Researches suitable solutions and estimated cost and schedule
- Trains less experienced engineers and designers
- Generates Instrument MTOs, reviews vendor documents
- Independently evaluates the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria and systems to efficiently meet project goals
- Applies standard engineering practices and exhibits a working knowledge of applicable codes (e.g. ISA, IEC, API)
- Reviews and generates design data from various inputs
- Coordinates details and miscellaneous design criteria with other disciplines
- Produces and/or supports the development of all types of Instrumentation and Control systems deliverables on a project, design drawings including wiring diagrams, location plans, installation details, loop diagrams, panel drawings, Remote Instrument Building layouts.
- Can-do attitude, willing to work on tasks not in exact areas of expertise
- Good working knowledge of basic instrumentation for Petrochemical plants.
- Conduct site surveys and provide site support as needed
- Travel as required.
Qualifications:
- 2 year or 4 year CAD or Technology degree a plus
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) and PDF markup software
- Working ability to use 3D model as a design tool (SmartPlant Review, Navisworks, SmartPlant S3D).
- Must have extensive AUTOCAD skills.
- Cross-discipline skills/experience in Electrical Design a plus.
