Do you want to leverage data and machine learning to help change our planet's trajectory? Do you have 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying data science and optimization solutions — and are you ready to take on greater technical responsibility? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where you partner with both business and technical stakeholders across the organization? Then you might be the new colleague we're looking for to join Vestas' AI & Data Science team.

Digital Solutions & Development > Digital Solutions > AI & Data Science Center of Enablement

Vestas' Data and AI area partners across the organization to raise the bar for what we can achieve with data, analytics and AI. You will join our AI & Data Science team, which helps deliver impactful solutions across the value chain from turbine design, commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, and service. We work to ensure the scalability and accessibility of data science and machine learning solutions, reduce the time to delivery from PoC to production by using efficient processes and frameworks for spotting and qualifying opportunities, and creating reference architectures, MLOps frameworks, and modularized components that span across the ML lifecycle. We are on a cloud journey and are working primarily in a data science tool stack that currently includes Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake. We work in an agile setup and aim to build a collaborative team culture that supports continuous learning - and also brings some fun along the way.

Our AI & Data Science team is part of Vestas' Digital Solutions organization set to drive the end-to-end digitalization of Vestas over the coming years. We co-build with product teams within and beyond Digital Solutions to leverage cross-functional competences for impactful ML solution delivery. In addition, we are working closely with our Data Platform team to mature our platform capabilities, shape our MLOps framework, and ensure the scalability of our data science workbench and ML tool stack.

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled individual to take on a leading technical role. You will be responsible for implementing advanced optimization and machine learning solutions while managing a complex landscape of stakeholders. This position requires not only coding expertise but also a deep understanding of architecture, integration, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of optimization and machine learning solutions, ensuring technical feasibility and scalability
  • Drive technical vision alignment with Product Area Architects, manage technical roadmap execution within product portfolio, and lead cross-functional technical discussions and decision-making
  • Develop methods, solution architectures, and best practices that can scale data solutions across the organization
  • Contribute to the maturation of our data platforms and the enhancement of the data science tool stack
  • Act as a bridge builder between data product teams and the AI & Data Science team to help mature and consolidate data science best practices

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience developing and deploying optimization algorithms, statistical or machine learning models, ideally with tangible applications in a corporate context
  • MSc. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Economics
  • Proficiency in Python and data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, pytorch), and expertise in optimization methods and algorithms (e.g. linear programming)
  • Hands-on experience with complex data manipulation, model building, statistical analysis, and designing cloud-based solutions (ideally Azure) using CI/CD
  • Ability to collaborate closely with both business and technology teams, and to communicate technical topics clearly
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus
  • Fluent spoken and written English is essential

Competences
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with both technical vision and the capability to roll up your sleeves and translate business needs into practical technical solutions
  • Passion and ambition to make an impact, combined with a strong sense of ownership
  • Ability to drive agendas forward in close collaboration with others
  • Curiosity and motivation to continuously acquire new knowledge and challenge yourself
  • Commitment to staying up to date within your field and applying learnings in practice
