Be part of the growing and exciting renewable energy industry by joining the Vestas North America Regional SCADA (Plant Engineering) Department which is tasked with the deployment and support of Wind Power Plant SCADA and control systems.

General Purpose: Responsible for performing preventive maintenance on SCADA Servers, performing integrity audits of SCADA data and auditing system configurations for contract compliance. Increase overall server performance by eliminating downtime due to capacity, log file and index errors. Increase data accuracy by verifying correct configurations and data processes are used. Provide timely reporting when out of tolerance conditions are discovered.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor SCADA servers and perform preventive maintenance including log files, indexes and DTS procedures.

• Create, audit and maintain stored procedures.

• Audit system configurations for contract compliance.

• Validate Shadow Data integrity.

• Provide written reports to appropriate managers regarding system compliance.

• Provide data extraction/query support as required.

• Backup and restore databases.

Essential Functions:

• Create SQL views for new sites.

• Maintain and optimize SQL databases.

• Monitor and schedule work on SQL databases.

• Extract data from SQL databases to be provided to customer on demand.

• Write SQL queries to perform tasks.

• Diagnose and correct SCADA system and database errors.

• Understand and interpret wind generation operating requirements and configure VOB modules.

Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Skills Required:

• Bachelor's degree, in Computer Science or equivalent.

• 3 years of prior experience as DBA.

• Proficient in SQL Server administration and maintenance.

• SQL Server Management Studio, Enterprise Manager and Query Analyzer.

• Experience using SQL reporting services.

• Previous experience auditing processes or procedures.

• Proficient knowledge of database security, backup and recovery.

• Basic knowledge of WGMS/SCADA components and operation (hardware, software, operating systems, networking, and power controls)

Competencies:

Additional skills preferred:

• Experience with VMware: ESXi host 6.0.0, 6.7, and 7.0

• Experience with Microsoft OS versions: XP, Server 2008, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10.

• Experience using SSH.

• Experience using PowerShell.

• Experience with providing remote support via shared screen, phone call, or Teams meeting.

• Experience with task-based coordination between multiple customers (internal/external) to perform scheduled work in alignment with all parties.

• Experience with a Patch Management process.

• Experience with HP iLO.

• Experience with Unitrends.

• Ability to fill out an RCA (root cause analysis).
