ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepares OPEX and CAPEX budgets by coordination with functional Heads. Ensuring correct and timely release of  the budgets in the system.
• Reviews and manages the budget vs. actuals and monitors the trends, releases the reports to the functional Head. Alerts concerned Heads in case of any foreseen overruns or unbudgeted cases.
• Conducts regular accounting reviews and advice the functional Heads if required.
• Manages the General Ledger function ensuring the preparation and recording of all necessary accounting entries including those related to the subsidiary ledgers in a timely and accurate manner.
• Manages the accounts payables function ensuring that all the organisation vendors are paid in a timely and efficient manner and also ensures compliance with all contractual payment policy terms and conditions.
• Manages the accounts receivables function ensuring the effective monitoring of all cash inflow through efficient reporting in all the financial statements and liaises as required with external bodies.
• Maintains accounting controls by correct implementation of chart of accounts, accounting policies and procedures and their regular updates.
• Introduces and makes sure that the entire financial operations are carried out within the Company authorization policy as per DOA from time to time.
• Ensures all financial transactions and commitments made in compliance with Company policy and procedures and within Board approved budget.
• Manages the Payroll function ensuring the systems and controls are in place to facilitate the effective payment, monitoring, updating and cost recording of payroll within the organisation for all business units.
• Checks the PIT and SSB calculations and finalize for timely deposit and filing returns with the authorities as per local legal requirements.
• Manages the Inventory Control Accounting, physical vs. book reconciliation and necessary adjustments.
• Manages relationship with bankers, monitors the funds movements (revenue and expenses).
• Prepares MIS reports for Management and functional Heads.
• Builds highly performing account teams by providing coaching, updating with the latest standards and developments in accounting field, formulate the training and development with HR department and putting succession planning in place.

Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required:

• Professional degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/CA/ACCA/CMA) with good knowledge of IFRS and other accounting standards with specific reference to Oil and Gas industry.
• At least 10 years of accounting experience in an organization of reasonable size and preferably in Oil and Gas sector.
