We are looking for an Offshore Installation Manager for our client, who is a well-established, recognised and African focussed independent oil and gas company.
  
The job holder will be responsible for the safety, health, welfare and discipline of all personnel on the installations and for the safety of all activities occurring on and within the 500-meter zone of the FPSO. Responsible for all Field activities and interfaces with the FPSO.
  
This role is based in Ghana.

Responsibilities and Key Objectives

  • Lead the offshore organisation in realizing safety and operational excellence and promoting a safety culture.
  • Ensure offshore work activities meet company EHS and Quality standards
  • Demonstrate visible commitment and leadership to achieve excellent EHS performance.
  • Offshore Representative of the Operational Safety Case ensuring compliance with the Safety Case requirements and ensuring workforce understands risks and safeguards in place to mitigate risks.
  • Development and implementation of an installation EHS Plan to support improving health, safety and environmental performance
  • Developing and maintaining a high level of emergency response capability on the installation
  • Act as ‘on-scene commander’ in the event of any incident on or around the installation which endangers personnel or assets
  • Planning and controlling the safe and efficient operation of the FPSO to meet safety case expectations.
  • Operations are executed in a manner that meets or achieve good Oil & Gas Industry Standards relevant policies, standards and procedures, and with legislation.
  • Ensure 28- and 90-day plans are effectively delivered, and maintenance and inspection programmes meet maintenance management system requirements. Work deferrals have appropriate approvals, ensuring performance standards are maintained.
  • Manage breakdown work to achieve the planned plant availability and maintenance of systems integrity and class requirements
  • Ensure that all plant and equipment is operated in accordance with design parameters and that all abnormalities are recorded and included in handover documentation
  • Work closely with the Project and Integrated Execution Project teams to ensure the asset maintains designed intent, uptime and availability targets.
  • Work closely with 3rd Party Contractors to ensure that all EHS, Security, Production, Maintenance, Integrity and Marine related processes, procedures meet company standards.
  • Accountable for delivery of annual budget line items within responsibility including core crew, catering & accommodation and offshore operations and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure work activities have appropriate financial commitments and approvals before commencing work.
  • Provide input to annual budgeting process in line with integrated asset planning expectations.
  • Control work not included in the plan in accordance with delegated authorities and planning procedures
  • Ensure culture in place to develop a continuous improvement environment of Operating & maintenance practices and performance
  • Initiate improvements in plant, equipment and working practices to achieve enhanced overall installation performance, and support production optimisation initiatives
  • Ensure Inspection and surveys meet independent verification body and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance expectations are delivered to meet operating management system expectations
  • Ensure workforce has adequate information to operate within operating management system expectations
  • Ensure crew is adequately trained and competent to meet operational and emergency duties.
  • Lead drills, simulations, and exercises to ensure emergency scenarios are tested
  • Ensure catering and accommodation services are delivered to meet expectations
  • Ensure production management expectations are delivered and loss reporting actions are implemented
  • Incidents, accidents, and non-conformances are reported, and corrective actions taken.
  • Responsible for performance management of direct reports including develop plans for effective succession planning
  • Mentor local Ghana staff, in order for them to acquire the necessary skills and experience to develop into Operations Management positions.

Education, Skills and experience

  • HND in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Essential knowledge’ in relevant FPSO management of offshore safety, production operations, maintenance, integrity management and deep water drilling operations
  •  Knowledge of EHS management systems and application of EHS working practices to a high standard.
  • Extensive and recent related experience (10-15 years) within the international offshore oil & gas industry
  • Ideally also with business/commercial experience.
  • Proven man-management capability, team builder/leader experience, and good written and oral communication skills are also essential.
  • Previous experience in a role with similar scope of work and responsibilities
  • Ability to travel internationally and to offshore locations if required
  • Computer literate and effective with “Office” software suite
  • Management and interpersonal skills in order to interact with and coordinate the activities of contractors and within own multi-discipline project team
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills
  • General contractor management.
