The ideal candidate will be responsible for all of the Project and Turnaround activities of the refinery. Leads and coordinates with the project contractor and the relevant refinery personnel (Operations, Technical Services, Maintenance) regarding planning, review, execution, and construction of the project.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed.
• Ensures all scoped engineering tasks meet the project requirements.
• Develops or verifies project-specific procedures for the work to be carried out.
• Ensuring all justifications for contractual variations during projects are approved and supported,
• Evaluates the contractors’ work by validating the organisation and prioritising of the work within the overall project schedule.
• Liaises with and manages contractors to ensure all equipment is fit for purpose.
• Coordinates with relevant departments, i.e., Operations, Technical Services or Maintenance, to ensure that the project objectives are addressed and met.
• Develop plans and execute the regular refinery turnaround and inspection (T&I) schedules. Manage the contractors during these activities.
• Manage assigned personnel to the level determined by top management.
• Familiar with the unit technology descriptions and examined for handling the technical assets of the units.
• Keep their workplace clean and clean it if it is needed or ordered.
• Follow their line manager or manager or director orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related field of study
• At least 10 years in the oil and gas industry with 5 years project experience in an oil refinery.
• Experience working in a contractor’s environment is essential. Strong familiarity with various project management software.
• Knowledge of PMP.
