The Head of Mechanical Engineering will oversee the mechanical engineering activities of the Onshore Project for packages. You'll ensure all technical requirements, such as project specifications, data sheets, etc., fully comply with project requirements and standardised processes and are delivered to the highest technical quality standards.


During your first few weeks in this Mechanical Engineer role, you can expect to take on some of the following:

• Ensure execution of work is technically aligned and in compliance with Operations, Policies, Standards of Business Conduct and Project Management System 
• Lead mechanical engineering design and planning activities for Packages and ensure the FEED contractor develops detailed designs in accordance with local regulatory requirements, industry standards, project specifications and any approved variations
• Resolve mechanical discipline issues to ensure engineering design addresses the NFW Project's expectations and objectives
• Communicate and elevate issues before they escalate to Project Management when necessary
• Review technical aspects of Mechanical Packages purchase orders with FEED Contractor and vendors in accordance with the roles and responsibilities stated in applicable contract(s) to ensure safe and seamless integration of new mechanical equipment into the existing operating facilities (when applicable)
• Assess plans and work schedules to ensure effective completion of project activities and provide data (narrative, charts, graphs), change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays

We are seeking a Head of Mechanical Engineering with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent and 15 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, preferably in a major LNG Project. You will also require:

• Broad knowledge of engineering execution, including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, onshore LNG facilities and utility systems design, construction and operations
• Requires demonstrated broad Static Mechanical equipment and systems experience
• Excellent written and oral English skills
• Excellent organisational, planning and coordination skills
• Technical, prioritisation, and management skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, communication, influencing and interface skills
