The VP TAO will be accountable for maximizing integrated business value across the organization. Technical Asset Operations (TAO) is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell's Asset Management System and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Downstream Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes.

The role is expected to provide detailed job plans for PM/CM activities. Understand the complexities and details of work planning with preventive and corrective maintenance activities and Prepare comprehensive work packs/task lists for preventive/corrective maintenance Field electrical equipment, Transformers, MOV's, Electric motors, lighting, switching and controls, Battery system, Electrical Heat Trace, substation equipment, control system and idea of transmission/operation at HV/LV voltage level in Oil & gas industry, Refinery, Petrochemical industry by studying the operations and maintenance manuals of OEMs, general task lists, equipment specific task lists, Test certificates, maintenance reports, spare part list, preventive maintenance strategies etc., and technical discussions with global, site maintenance leads/technical authorities & OEMs/Vendors etc.,

Prepare preventive/corrective maintenance activities work pack and support maintenance and reliability engineers as assigned from end-to-end basis initial respond, carry out assessment, ensure correct prioritization of work, troubleshoot & propose technical solutions virtually, co-ordinate discussion with stakeholders, conduct Risk Assessment, ensure good QA/QC, record keeping, & final job closure to enable high equipment reliability & plant technical availability.

Understand the machinery constructions and maintenance methods such as proactive / preventive / corrective maintenance being followed in operating units and assist them in making changes and improve readiness of maintenance with sufficient time before maintenance activities begin.

Purpose & Accountabilities

  • Primary responsibility in preparing/developing work plan with comprehensive workpacks from Calibration reports, maintenance reports, general tasklist, equipment specific task lists, spare part list, equipments drawings, circuit diagrams, P&IDs,instrument logics, cause & effects,Equipment data sheets, operation and maintenance manuals of OEMs etc., for Field electrical equipment, HV/LV Transformers, MOV's, Electric motors, lighting, switching and controls etc., for various operating units as per Shell Standards.
  • Building work packs include detailed description of the tasks that need to be performed for maintenance of each Instruments, parts required, tools required, time required and relationship between tasks including the pre-work preperation steps.
  • The Electrical Corrective Planner provides quality, fit for purpose Corrective and PM plans including site preparations, parts, recommended improvements, vendor requirements, contacts, support equipment and resources in the correct task sequence for efficient scheduling and cost-effective execution.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Corrective and Preventative Maintenance plans for Routine Maintenance in compliance with AMS ME Practices and in alignment with Planning, Finance and C&P processes.
  • Manage Instrument/Electrical backlog as per LAFD (50%) for routine maintenance, escalation when any risk or roadblocks for resolution, perform to standing SCT planning KPI's
  • WO's will be delegated by Senior Planner
  • GSAP/Blueprint proficient, vetted and verified by SCT planning supervisor
  • Maintain plan quality performance expectations less than 2% re-plan frequency
  • Deliver accurate/high-quality plans as per SCT performance planning KPI's
  • Manage stakeholder relationships through proficient communication both written and verbal to attain information and documentation in a timely manner
  • Competent Cost awareness: Communication of significant plan cost increases to budget holder, including variances ($$) from initial cost estimates through senior planner involvement
  • Participate and comply with all safety programs, SOP's, SWP's, plan standards
  • Assist with the continuous improvement and implementation of standardized work processes for effective cost and budget control
  • Stay current with mandatory training in Shell e-learnings and additional unit and facility requirements
  • Planning Work orders in SAP/GSAP and building library work packs that include detailed description of the tasks that need to be performed for time & condition-based maintenance, breakdown maintenance, ordering parts required, service or tools required, estimating time required, Estimating cost of work order, network mapping and quality check points for minimum assurance tasks.
  • Job hazard assessment, setting out risks anticipated required while performing tasks and creating Permit to work.
  • Identifying the system condition for each operation activity tasks should be ascertained about the shutdown windows availability or suitable opportunities for maintenance activities.
  • Planning of end-to-end work orders to enable efficient scheduling and ensure compliance of executable work orders.
  • First level diagonisis of damage history, determining the failure mode based on anomaly reports and informtion given in corrective maintenance work request/ notification.
  • Investigating and analysis of CM work requset to identify the true cause of the problem and prepare work orders with the detailed tasks to repair the damage with as much as detailed information required to complete the job effectively including procedures, sketches, specifications, or drawings deemed necessary.
  • Improving productivity by ensuring the resource, special tool, material, and service requirements availability before the job begins.
  • Customize the equipment make and model specific work packs into site specific work pack by adding site conditions and parameters.
  • Accommodate the PM library changes by converting the turnaround documents to the global work packs.
  • Constantly engage with site maintenance leads, original equipment manufacturers, vendors and modify the work packs as recommended/required by the site maintenance personnels.
  • Anticipate & plan for mandatory spares, tools and tackles and manpower required for the Instruments, control valves, level instruments and damper equipment's based on the information extracted from maintenance manuals, collate any additional information about Instruments & its spares, if required from the vendors and accommodate the information in the work pack.

  • Confidence to work in virtual environment and managing engagement across different levels of stakeholders, including senior management for day-to-day operations. Includes initiative to identify and help resolve business and technical issues within areas of responsibility.
  • Sound understanding of business/process workflow and having mature mindset to deal and behave under tough/challenging situations.
  • Strong proficiency in using English for both spoken and written communication, as well as using Skype for Business, Instant Messaging, Video Conferencing, Outlook, etc.
  • Shift work following operating hours of production sites/ Plants.
  • Resilient under pressure and able to work with people different culture and working style.
  • Willing to travel to various operating units/sites across the globe as per requirements.
  • A self-starter leader and reliable deliverer, with very good verbal and written skills in English, able to negotiate with people, and able to resist undue influence that might otherwise compromise integrity of data quality.
  • Exposes the individual to all cultural backgrounds and organizational levels, across diverse time zones.
  • Sound understanding of business/process workflow and having mature mindset to deal and behave under tough/challenging situations.
  • The role will involve working in shifts (Afternoon/Evening/Late Evening Shifts) to have enough interface with the asset/plant to be supported remotely/virtually. Shift work follows Dutch working hours.

Skills & Requirements
  • University Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 + years of working experience in Field electrical systems, equipment's and controls and automation systems in Oil & Gas/ Refinery/ Petrochemicals Industry and in one or more of following areas: -
  • Installation & commissioning/operations & maintenance of Electrical equipment viz. Transformers, MOV's, Electric motors, lighting, switching and controls, Battery system, substation equipment, control system and idea of transmission/operation at HV/LV voltage level etc.
  • Experience in preparing/planning the maintenance work instructions, task lists, work packs, work, and manpower estimation for major maintenance/overhauling of Electrical equipment viz. Transformers, MOV's, Electric motors, lighting, switching and controls, Battery system, substation equipment, control system and idea of transmission/operation at HV/LV voltage level etc. utilizing SAP software.
  • Experience in materials or resources to be ordered, in advance of the work order being issued, such that the scheduler can immediately bring the work order into the schedule without any intervention, Participated and supported ISO/safety-MS audits, as well as other related external audits, as part of Company Safety Control framework and management system.
  • Performed Instrument equipment condition monitoring whenever required & liaise with relevant subject matter experts/specialist/OEM to address any arising issues, problems & concerns. Provide Instrument support to other maintenance discipline, provide support and allocate required resources for Turnaround execution.
  • Proficient: understanding P&ID drawings / isometric drawings /schematic drawings/ loop drawings
  • Proficient: EHT troubleshooting and installation, MOV's, Electric motors, lighting, switching and controls
  • Hands on Experience in Plant Maintenance Area as an engineering/end user of SAP PM Module/ Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)/Document Management System etc.,
  • Electrical maintenance & exposure to work planning for field electrical equipment -Desirable
  • Experience in leading team/process/projects is preferred.
  • Experience in Technical Data and Documents management including processes and tools. For example, experience in SAP PM module implementation, skill in MS Office tools like Excel and Access etc.
  • Awareness in SPI In-tools specification and wiring model, control valve training etc., shall be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of SAP PM is preferable.
  • Effective communication skill and stakeholder management is a necessary skill for the job.

  • Ability to independently, resourcefully, and creatively research and implement new solutions.
