JOB TITLE: SENIOR ENGINEER - INSTRUMENTATION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible to review and approval of EPC Contractors Engineering and Vendor documents under PMC role in compliance with Contract, Project Standards, international codes and standards with budgeted man-hour and project schedules

• Review EPC contracts/ FEED packages, identify, and resolve discrepancies and divergences through the instigation of technical queries to projects/client.

• Review / Approval of Technical Document Register (TDR) as per Contract requirements and Inquiry requisitions in line with scope of work.

• Review /Approval of Design basis, Project specifications, Philosophies, Safety Study specification, Data sheets, P&IDs/, Drawings, etc. developed by EPC Contractors with focus on interface management.

• Organize the issuance of engineering drawings and technical documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDCs), coordinate with other engineering disciplines in the integration of data inputs and identification critical path.

• Review Procurement Engineering documents of EPC like MR/Data Sheets/ Technical Bid Evaluations and resolve all deviations to Project specs with Contractors.

• Review / Approval of VDR, vendor design calculations, drawings, and other documents to ensure compliance with client equipment specifications.

• Have participated in HAZOP/SIL workshops and understand HAZOP/SIL methodologies.

• Experience in preparation of Instrument Datasheets of Valves/flowmeters, MR/TBE preparation of DCS/SIS systems.

• Interface with client / vendor representatives, as needed, participate in internal staff meetings, ensure the progress of design reviews in accordance to schedule, allotted man hours and budgeted costs.

• Familiarity with key design practices related to field instrumentation and related softwares.

• Understanding of the design features of various control systems (such as DCS System, SIS System, F&G System, BMS, etc) and ability to support site troubleshooting, if needed

• Active Participate & Contribute in HAZOP, SIL, HSE studies, Design review meeting with the client, representatives of other engineering disciplines and Vendors.

• Interact with HSE, Quality Assurance for quality issues, review and approval of ITP; FAT procedures and strictly ensure compliance with Companys ISO Quality procedures and Project specification.

• Assist Internal and Client audit, facilitate audit procedures of engineering systems within the department.

• Participate in FAT, SAT & support in Troubleshooting of Control System & equipment at Vendor facility & Commissioning /Start-up

• Interface and provide clarification and guidance and technical support to construction sites and commissioning engineers, provide start-up assistance as required.

• Perform departmental duties as and when directed by Direct Supervisor to develop Standards/Data Sheets/Other Tools to improve productivity.

• Work with engineering and design team for the provision of the detailed design and providing solutions to site and interfaces, as required on the project.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Instrument Engineering Degree from an accredited college or university.

• Minimum 12-15 years in relevant experience in Petrochemical or Oil & Gas Projects.

• Preferably working with an international PMC/ EPC company.

• Adequate knowledge and practical applications, international specifications, codes and standards concerning instrument and control engineering.

• Hands on experience on Instrumentation softwares like Intools, Instucal etc

• Hands on experience of commission of DCS/ESD systems, e,g, Honeywell/Yokogawa etc.

• Excellent English language communication skills in verbal and written briefs and skilled in report writing and compilation.

• Work to the highest personal standards and achieve set objectives.

• Proven experience with diverse and multi-cultural teams is essential.

• Commissioning experience with mega project with reputed oil and gas clients.
