New Opportunity!! Sr Piping Designer

NES Fircroft is actively seeking an experienced Piping Designer for our Refining Client in Delaware City, DE.  This will be a short-term contract assignment (2-3 months in length) and our client is seeking candidates with 3D modeling experience in an Oil & Gas setting, preferably a Refinery.  Candidates must possess a valid TWIC card.

Responsibilities:

1. Piping Design: Lead the design and development of complex piping systems for refinery projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
2. CAD Drafting: Utilize AutoCAD, PLANT3D, and RasterCAD to create detailed piping layouts, isometrics, and construction drawings.
3. 3D Modeling: Leverage 3D modeling capabilities within AutoCAD to visualize and optimize piping designs, ensuring efficient layout and space utilization.
4. P&ID Development: Create and update Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for petroleum facilities, incorporating equipment, piping, instrumentation, and control systems.
5. Electrical and Instrumentation Diagrams: Read, interpret, and create electrical and instrumentation diagrams (E&IDs) as needed for integrated design solutions.
6. Software Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Adobe, and Visio for documentation and communication purposes.
7. Document Management: Utilize document database systems such as Documentum, BlueCielo, or SAP to manage and organize project documentation effectively.
8. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications.
9. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of piping designs with project objectives and client requirements.
10. Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster their professional growth.

Qualifications:

1. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a refinery setting, with a proven track record in piping design and drafting.
2. Technical Skills: Extensive experience in drafting using AutoCAD, PLANT3D, and RasterCAD, along with proficiency in 3D modeling within AutoCAD.
3. P&ID Experience: Strong background in creating and updating P&IDs within petroleum facilities, with a deep understanding of process flow diagrams and instrumentation symbols.
4. Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Adobe, and Visio, with experience in reading, interpreting, and creating electrical and instrumentation diagrams.
5. Document Management Systems: Experience with Documentum, BlueCielo, or SAP document database systems for efficient document control and management.
6. Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
