NES Fircroft are currently recruiting for an I&C Application Engineer for our client, who are a world-renowned power technology company.

I&C Application Engineer
Location: St. Neots
Contract position

Must have:

• Control and instrumentation biased engineer with 5-10 years experience (Senior Engineer level) working in a production and/or project engineering environment
• Good understanding of industrial processes, ideally oil and gas / petrochemical with ability to read and understand P&IDs
• Good understanding of industrial hazards and process safety / layers of protection principles
• Good technical writing ability, able to convert technical requirements into design specifications of high quality using MS Word and Excel
• Good communication skills, professional manner when working with colleagues and customers
• Strong team player, able to work independently and support junior team members when required

Should have:

• Experience with modification / configuration, testing and commissioning of DCS/SCADA/PLC equipment (hardware and software)
• Experience programming control application software using IEC 61131 languages as well as HMIs
• Experience working with industrial fieldbus technologies (e.g. Profibus)
• Experience programming serial interfaces using Modbus protocol

Desirable:

• Experience with ABB System 800xA and AC800M / AC800M HI hardware and software maintenance and/or configuration
• Good understanding of Function Safety standards (IEC 61508 /61511), certification (FSEng) and/or project experience working with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
• Good understanding of OT Cyber Security requirements (IEC 62443)
• Experience with modification / configuration of industrial ethernet networks, including switches, routers and/or firewalls

Experience with modification / configuration of Windows operating systems for OT environments (Workgroup or Windows Active Directory)
