Maintenance Engineer (Welding and Coating)
Mechanical Service Shops Department (MSSD) is offering a position for an experienced highly skilled Maintenance Engineer (Coating & Welding) specialized in coating and welding to work in Abqaiq shops. As a maintenance engineer in MSSD, you will be performing hands on diagnoses and coatings for various parts of rotating equipment such as shafts, gears, pump and compressor impellers in addition to other stationery parts.
MSSD has state-of-the-art workshops and facilities that are driven by our most valuable asset, which is the department's skilled and experienced workforce. Its primary responsibility is to maintain Saudi Aramco's rotating and stationary equipment. The department plays a vital role in the company as it provides support to all field organizations by maintaining and repairing corporate equipment. Duties and Responsibilities
A. Provide technical supports in coating and welding, testing and issue related technical reports.
B. Provide technical consultation to Shops Operating Repair Units and Contractor Shops.
C. Support field installation, maintenance and repair of rotating equipment.
D. Troubleshoot, repair, modify existing equipment and Identify cost reductions & process improvements.
E. Ability to prepare design engineering packages of rotating equipment.
F. Preform technical investigation for shop repair return jobs to identify root cause of failure, corrective repair actions and lesson learned.
G. Introduce the latest technology in coating and welding methodology.
H. Develop and revise department's technical procedures and standards.
I. Provide coaching and knowledge sharing to junior engineers, quality inspectors and technicians.
J. Provide technical input for purchasing specifications including technical proposal evaluation.
K. Liaise with Department engineers, Consulting Services Department (CSD), other Company Departments and manufacturers.
L. Liaise with In-House Repair Units, Quality Assurance units, In-Kingdom Contractors and vendor & manufacture in developing, evaluation, and implementing shop repair work scopes.
M. Participate in vendor and customer exchange meetings.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering
- Minimum of 15 years' hands on experience in thermal coating and welding field as stipulated above under position description.
- Experience in thermal coating, laser cladding and welding
- Experience on rotating equipment with original equipment manufacturing facility or equivalent certified repairing facility
- Certification in welding from AWS or equivalent
- Excellent English reading and writing
