PURPOSE
  • Provide engineering, planning and supervising of drilling engineering.
  • Daily operational support during the operation.
  • Responsible for supervising, planning, preparing, and designing wells as well as providing drilling / operations technical support for the operations.
  • Provide supervising, contracting, invoicing, and material tracking to support ongoing and future operational requirements.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Technical tasks:
  • Prepare and supervise well plans, cost estimates, drilling programs for based exploration, and appraisal wells.
  • Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
    • * Selection of casing points and sizes
    • * Casing & cementing design
    • * Drill string design
    • * Directional drilling
    • * Pore pressure / fracture gradient analysis
    • * Drilling fluid program

Procurement:
  • Review technical specifications; supervise the preparation of the ITB package, bid evaluation & updating the contract document for drilling contracts. Supervise to ensure that all long lead materials / rental tools and equipment for drilling operations are fit for purpose and available in a timely manner.

Compliance assurance:
  • Ensure compliance of operations with approved procedures, safety, and government / SKI office organizational requirements.

Supervision & Evaluation:
  • Continuously monitor drilling activity, related operations, and safety issues. Forecast in advance incremental expenditure as operations require
  • Make recommendations to improve operations for increased efficiency and to overcome operational difficulties. Ensuring lessons learned are recorded and distributed as appropriate.
  • Conduct post project end of well reviews recording the history / description of the well and identify / recommend areas for improved operational efficiencies and design. Monitor historical and current performance to benchmark progress. Prepare the end of well report.
  • Check invoice payments to service Contractors.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Preferably Bachelor Degree or higher in the specific or related field.
  • Operation experiences in the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experiences in drilling engineering
  • Good spoken and written English skills.
  • Good communication skill
  • Good computer skill (MS office, Landmark, Wellview, etc.)
  • Careful, detail-oriented, customer-service mindset
  • Able to work, multi taking, responsibly under pressure.
  • Optimize drilling costs and bring the best possible benefits to drilling operations.
  • Team work, innovative, challenging and ambitious.
