Job Title: Project Buyer
Location: On-site, FIFO
Schedule: 4/3 M-Th 10hrs/day
Contract length: 2 years
Anticipated Start date: ASAP

About the role:
Working in a team environment, the Project Buyer will execute procurement strategies for major projects, in accordance with Supply Management policies and procedures.  
Responsibilities
  • Issue and evaluate Requests for Information and Expressions of Interest
  • Prequalify potential suppliers.
  • Create procurement plans.
  • Prepare and issue RFQ’s and RFP’s 
  • Prepare commercial evaluations, participate in clarification meetings, and create award recommendations.
  • Create commitments such as purchase orders, master agreements, work orders and fabrication contracts.
  • Administrate post-award commitments including Management of Change
  • Perform expediting duties when required.
  • Close out commitments
  • Circulate and follow up on approval documents.
  • Complete scanning, faxing, photocopying, printing, carbon copy orders (mini books, etc.)
  • Assist in contractors’ onboarding in Calgary and at the Horizon site (liaising with project administrators to ensure camp bookings, flight bookings, security check are covered)
  • Prepare and edit documents (RFP packages, contract documents for final review)
  • Update the project and supply management electronic folders.
  • Receive bid packages and send mail that needs to go to vendors such as hard copy files, original contract documents, etc.
  • Liaise with the Document Control team to obtain necessary documents (missing Canadian Natural standards required for RFP Packages) and check for the most updated version of technical documents.
  • Complete other miscellaneous administrative duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Typically, 8 to 10 years of related purchasing experience in the Oil and Gas sector with a post-secondary education
  • Willingness to perform a dual role (as a Buyer and an Administrative Officer)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Familiarity with and understanding of:
    • Procurement and Project Management processes for major projects
    • Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word and Excel)
    • ERP systems such as JD Edwards and Maximo
