Job Title: Area Manager (Waste Management Package)

We are currently seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee construction activities, with a focus on the Waste Management Package, for a major onshore LNG development project in Mozambique. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a large-scale, strategic energy infrastructure initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of up to 20 professionals in the execution and oversight of the EPC contractor’s ISBL works.
• Inspire a strong HSE culture across client and contractor teams through hands-on leadership and compliance with safety requirements.
• Monitor and coordinate all construction activities within the assigned area, ensuring alignment with project procedures, safety protocols, and schedules.
• Build strong relationships with contractors to support timely resolution of technical and logistical issues.
• Review progress, identify risks and delays, and propose mitigation measures.
• Oversee execution planning, pre-commissioning, and transition to commissioning, including during SIMOPS.
• Support the broader project management team in achieving safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of project milestones.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant industry experience, with at least 5 years in a management position.
• At least 5 years’ experience on major greenfield projects (LNG, GTL, petrochemical, or refinery environments preferred).
• Proven track record in managing safety, schedule, cost, quality, and stakeholder coordination in complex industrial projects.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Portuguese or French is a plus.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Work Environment:

• Remote site located in Northern Mozambique with challenging logistical and environmental conditions.
• Role is part of a rotational scheme (28 days on / 28 days off).
• All necessary security, medical, and operational measures are in place to support safe working conditions on site.
