Manager, Marketing Data Management

FIVE CONTINENTS TECHNICAL & INDUSTRIAL SERVICES – SOLE PROPRIET Abu Dhabi Full-Time
Job Purpose

Manage the activities of Marketing Data Management Department by creating and enforcing policies for effective data management on global statistics with focus key regions; including Asia and the Middle East. Control the data flow of worldwide energy statistics to support CLIENT  Stakeholders, Government entities as well as OPEC. Develop and provide Energy Country & Customers Profiles to support CLIENT business relationship and business opportunities. 
Monitor global trading flows of hydrocarbons to generate reports on demand to identify trading transactions that will add to CLIENT's commercial profitability. 
Oversee and control the management techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy accuracy and legitimacy of data; aiming to deliver CLIENT's single source.
Manage the development and implementation of an efficient and secure procedures for data management and analysis with attention to all technical aspects.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

Marketing Data Management 
•    Develop efficient and secure policies, procedures and systems for effective data management and analysis on global statistics focusing on key regions with attention to all technical aspects.
•    Supervise the collation of worldwide energy statistics to develop sales and trading databases, with focus on key regions including Asia, Middle East, Europe, North & South of America and Africa.
•    Manage and develop the Marketing Dashboard through Business Intelligence and approve access requests.
•    Manage and develop price database for Marketing Research division and MS&T Directorate.
•    Provide medium-term data of oil & gas market fundamentals to support Market Research Unit reports, Sales negotiation participation & supply/demand scenarios
•    Manage project plans, define the scope, tools and methodologies to be used, set up a project schedule, manage data providers and prepare data collection templates. Coordinate the conversion of data into a format, which is convenient for analysis, and prepare reports on findings, before interpreting them and making final recommendations.
•    Maintain internal energy statistics to support CLIENT Stakeholders as well as Ministry of Energy & Industry and OPEC.
•    Develop, Provide and maintain Energy Client & Country-focused profiles; with focus on CLIENT Business
•    Develop business relationship with CLIENT clients and showcase business, operational and investment opportunities.
•    Plan and lead benchmarking initiatives for CLIENT MS&T’s performance in terms of exports/imports against competitors.
•    Manage the provision of data feed supporting trading initiative and evaluate new technologies to improve and optimize the directorate team performance.
•    Manage and Supervise trade flows reports identifying arb-opportunities and present to senior management team.
•    Supervise and participate in the development of an executive management information system, evaluate information data sources and systems to develop insights and make recommendations for improvement. 
•    Oversee the development and use of data Software packages, subscriptions relevant to data management that is provided by oil market consultant agencies.
•    Plan and manage Data management/modelling training at specific entities such as OPEC, Business Partners & Ministry of Energy and Industry.
•    Manage the development and provision of Energy Country & Customers Profiles to support CLIENT business relationship and business opportunities. 
•    Monitor global trading flows of hydrocarbons to generate reports on demand to identify trading transactions that will add to CLIENT's commercial profitability. 
•    Manage application of management techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy accuracy and legitimacy of data.

Generic Accountabilities

Management
•    Plan and supervise the activities of the personnel and resources of the Department to achieve the Division objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner while ensuring implementation of approved operational plans for the Department in line with Division objectives.
•    Develop the knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the Department and support the establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDP’s), Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the Department in coordination with the Human Capability Group to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.
Budgets and Operational Plans
•    Compile and provide input for preparation of the Division budgets and regularly monitor expenditure against approved the Department budget levels.
•    Investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
•    Lead the implementation of approved Department policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls in order to support execution of the Division work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management 
•    Implement the Company Performance Management System for individuals within the Department in accordance with Company approved guidelines and continuously monitor the achievement of the Department KPIs related to the approved Annual Performance Management Contract and the Balanced Score Card.
Organisation Structure and Development
•    Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for the Department that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
•    Encourage innovation, enhance employee motivation and support initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve operations and services.
•    Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Department.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
•    Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, systems & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Department in line with international standards, best practices and CLIENT Code of Practices.
•    Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all Department employees to meet HSE standards.
Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reports
•    Prepare all Department MIS and progress reports to provide accurate and timely reports and necessary information to Company Management to effectively manage the business.

Internal Communications & Working Relationships

•    Regular work related contacts with SVP, VP, peer Department Manager and all reporting staff and team members within the Function on matters related to the Marketing strategy and policies, operations, administration, people, HSE and integrity.
•    Regular contacts with senior management of all Functions in MS&T.
•    Regular contacts with other Directorates (like Finance, Upstream, Downstream, Group IT, etc.) for Marketing strategies and planning. 
•    Regular contact with Executive Management of CLIENT Group Companies.

External Communications & Working Relationships

•    Contacts with third party service provider, suppliers, consultants and industry experts.
•    Frequent contacts with CLIENT Shareholder and partners for discussion, exchange of information / expertise purposes.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Economics / Business Administration / Finance / Accounting.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

15 years of work experience in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Industry, at least 8 of which should have been in Marketing, Supply & Trading business related to market research activities at a supervisory level.
